MacBook Pro 15" - Config Medium format ?

    Hello,

which config can you recommend me for my 50MP Files (X1D) - using Phocus, Lightroom and Photoshop (also InDesign and Illustrator).
Capture the Pictures with only a pre-RAW Processing.

    6 or 8 core?
    RAM ?
    Graphic Card?

    Thank you very much!

Here's how I configured my MBP in May:

    • 2.4GHz 8‑core 9th‑generation Intel Core i9 processor, Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz
    • Radeon Pro Vega 20 with 4GB of HBM2 memory
    • 32GB 2400MHz DDR4 memory
    • 2TB SSD storage

I wanted something that would last five years (or more). I shoot with the X1D/X1D II and use Adobe LR and PS.

    Thank you.

For the final work in photoshop i will use a imac pro maybe the new mac pro.

The laptop is just for mobile solutions - so i think your config is a little bit too much for my needs?!

Does a 6 vs 8 core gives me much more power for Adobe products like photoshop, lightroom or tethered shooting with phocus or c1?

Whats up with the graphic card?

    I guess 32gb ram is a must ?!

    THX !

I do my main work on an iMac Pro and use the MacBook Pro when traveling or at home when I'm working away from my desk. I wanted the MBP to be fast enough to perform complex tasks in Photoshop and Lightroom, and be capable of doing so for at least five years.

I've read that Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop don't use the multiple cores as effectively as Capture One, but other apps do. So once again, I opted for speed for the long term.

Unless you're a gamer, the graphics card may not be a strong consideration. Recently, Adobe apps have begun to use the graphics processor more than in the past:

IMHO, yes. I max out the DRAM. You can't add more once you've bought it like you could in the past. I think it's soldered in now.
