D2Xs with 85mm f/1.8
Absolute confirmation that you don't need any more mp's than 12.4! Excellent portrait with color and character that rivals some of the best. Nicely done.
Thank you. For most photography, 12 MP is indeed sufficient, and I consider adding more "low MP" cameras to my collection. The D700 is an obvious candidate, as is the Panasonic GH5s, and any version of the Sony A7s. A 16 MP Olympus E-M5 II just came in the door here. 1,200 clicks, mint condition, $350.

When it comes to the D2X, there's also the fact that the images from that camera carry many of the characteristics from film, one of the last cameras to have that slightly grainy look.
 
I think these "fat pixel" sensors make digital noise look like film grain. I'm interested in these older cameras for wedding shoots simply because of the character of the sensor.
