Another MF maker died today - DHW bankrupt.

Hi Ignazi, I'm sorry to read about your service experience which isn't the norm. I've sent you an e-mail. All factory service does come with a warranty, hopefully we can get this sorted for you. Regards, Eric

Another MF maker died today - DHW bankrupt.

The news of the insolvency was a bit of a surprise to me as my sales as their US dealer were steadily rising, however I wouldn't say they are over - I just got a shipment with 3 cameras and a number of other items today from them. I'm hoping that they will resurface as they have before or that...

    miss 6x6 a lot

I really like the square format as well. I'd love to see a larger square sensor too. I used the p20 for a long while on a 6008AF and loved it but it was hard to go very wide with the crop factor. The AFi-ii 12 makes a 60mp image when set to 1::1 which isn't too shabby. I do lust after a full...

    Considering the HY6

It seems like if you have the base part, a lot of things can be made to work since its just a matter of getting the spacing right. There is a guy on ebay selling adapter frames for the rolleiflex TLRs that accepts hasselblad prisms so conceivably you could make something similar for the Hy6 to...

    ALPA and HY6 back adapter

Glad to hear you have it all worked out!

    ALPA and HY6 back adapter

Yes, these pins do just unscrew, but if yours looks fine and works fine on the camera, I doubt that its the issue. Maybe just for sake of thoroughness, check to see if that pin on the back is fixed tightly and not loose. Also you could try the rear cover plate for the Hy6 camera body and see if...

    Considering the HY6

Thanks Marko, That's true! How could I have missed that? I don't personally use the 90 finder because I don't like the camera position, but I shoot mostly hand held. I've written the factory to ask if a one off could be made with one of the older 90 prisms and am waiting to hear back.

    ALPA and HY6 back adapter

This is interesting to read, because Alpa normally has a very high standard. I'd send it back for service myself.

    Considering the HY6

The 90 degree view finder does have the highest magnification 3.4x and is lighter weight than the 45 degree prism. The 45 degree prism has 2.5x magnification and the lupe finder has 3x. Both the 90 deg and lupe finder have adjustable diopter correction, while the 45 degree prism requires...

    Considering the HY6

There are a lot of variables here, so what works for me may not for others, but in general I find the lupe finder the most accurate for me and next the 45 degree prism finder. I do use the WLF, but mostly when I want to travel light or compact. I find the WLF hard to use without my glasses...

    Considering the HY6

Regarding the focus spot size question: I have only experimented with this, not been provided any special information from the factory, though I will ask next time I have a chance. My experience is that the size makes a difference in how the AF works. For example if you set focus spot to...

    Considering the HY6

Hi, Regarding the screens. The Hasselblad acute matte screen was a design from Minolta where they used hexagonal cells sandwiched together. This meant no dead space and more transmitted light. There wasn't more contrast though it was brighter. I've tested some of these Minolta patent screens...

    Studio Tripod? Which One?

I bought a lot of used gear which included an old Linhof tripod with the geared center column. I can't believe how great this old tank is. Wouldn't recommend it for anything but the studio, but wow, this is just fantastic - it's a rock.

    Considering the HY6

Hi Ray, Thanks for the input. On some of the tests, the values were actually over .5 but I assumed that I had done something wrong such as overdone the capture level sharpening. I think I came to the conclusion that 1 pixel could only represent 1/2 a line pair at best, so assumed .5 was the max...
