How Can We Help GetDPI Stay Alive

Donated. Can those who have written, "I could never support a paid site" PLEASE explain why? Do you expect admins to give time and effort gratis? Do you give your own expertise and time in your own fields for nothing? Honestly, I simply do not understand this attitude, and would like to. Some...

    X-T2... oh bugger

That's the main problem, isn't it? If the FF Af lenses were OM size, the story might be different, but the Sony 50s, just as an example, are (to me) huge in relation to the bodies, esp. the gen. 1s. And recall all the great film cameras: many of them were X-E2 size and close to the same UI, too.

    X-T2... oh bugger

I have been toying with the idea of getting a Sony A7s, once the price drops below $1,000. Shouldn't be long now. I have some excellent OM lenses just waiting for a good home... not to mention a stellar copy of the CV 12/5.6. But I an joining this thread to mention that these days, I do not...

my impressions about the Fujifilm X-PRO2

David Schneider wrote: Agree 100%. I am amazed how good the 'old' X-E2 is, especially with the latest firmware (and also amazed why there's so little public "love" for the 27/2.8). The X-E2/27 is an amazing combo for event work; set to ƒ4 and forget. If you get close, lovely OOF...

    Sigma DP2 Merrill shots

I miss mine; and the images here are a testament its photographic prowess, but no finder meant that the experience of making an image was never intimate. 45mm EFOV is my favourite walk-around FL, but I must have a finder. If Sigma ever re-release this sensor–lens combo with a finder, I will buy...

    Positive Feedback

Can I add that Jonathon sent me a pic via his phone of the package at the Post Office? This is dotting the "I"s and crossing the "T"s; I so like this. I probably will be trading with JD again... :)

    Positive Feedback

Member: Jonathon Delacour Item: Cosina Voigtländer 28/3.5 Buyer: me Concise, accurate, friendly communication; the lens arrived looking like it had never been mounted and packed to survive a fall from Everest (or at least Half Dome!). An excellent transaction in every way. A very positive...

WTB: Cosina Voigtlander 28/3.5 Color Skopar Leica Thread (or Leica screw) mount

Looking for one of these in excellent condition. I will pay for shipping to Australia on top of your asking price. If you have one, and are not using it, I would love to buy it. I am embarking on a one-lens one-camera project (this lens will sit on an X-E2). I have 83 + feedbacks on FM (under...

Lens surprises and a place surprise

Doug, I like 24mm too (the 12/2 in µ4/3rds is excellent); I just happened to have the 12/5.6 here; it's an excellent copy, and adapters are cheap these days.

    Possible MF from Fuji

Ha! That made me laugh. I have a couple of system already (µ4/3rds, and recently one of the X-E2 bodies with the 35/1.4 lens). For the work I do these days, µ4/3rds is adequate; in fact the deeper DOF wide open or near wide open is a bonus. There's plenty of foreground–background separation. A...

    Possible MF from Fuji

@ HiredArm: that sensation you feel is me running over you to get to this one before you do!!!! :D That is my dream camera. It is not as though Fujinon can't make MF bodies or lenses... all I need is a 45–50 mm EFOV lens on it; fixed is fine by me.

Lens surprises and a place surprise

@ Doug: The CV 12/5.6 on an adapter: I have one coming for the X-E2 and will comment here when it arrives and I have shot with it. MF, but with this DOF, who cares?

    X-E2 vs "S" model

Excellent, Neil, and very similar to my experiences. And that is a beautiful portrait, too: natural, brooding, and real.

    X-E2 vs "S" model

These are very different beasts, indeed. Looking forward to your review, Neil.

    X-E2 vs "S" model

Well, I bought a used X-E2 yesterday. New X-E2 bodies can be had for $499 USD from Adorama – with a grip, but used ones are available for significantly less. None of the on-paper differences between the X-E2 with Firmware 4.0 and the new X-E2s seemed important for me. In the new world of...
