    mpb.com in the uk has an IQ260 listed under 3000GBP. This is an excellent 60 MP large sensor back that works well with SK lenses. I have heard that the IQ180/280 have colour cast issues with the shorter SK lenses.

    I use a tenba dslr 13 shoulder bag. I can carry the XF with the waist level finder, 55, 80 and 110 comfortably. I tend to wear the bag across my chest and behind me. Unless I have the strap quite short, the bag bounces a bit as I walk. I suspect a similar situation will add to the shoulder...

    There is the older Mamiya 55 mm f 2.8, which predates the silver ring LS version. It has no AF clutch, and cannot/should not be focused manually on on XF.

    That is good news! If the back works on a DF or XF, the electronic interface should be fine, and it’s a setting issue. I no longer have an IQ3 to check. Restore factory settings or reflash the firmware?

    Another check is whether the it works in the vertical orientation. The camera has several micro switches to detect various configurations. If no back is detected, the “safety” checks are disabled and the camera will fire. I suspect one of these many switches.

    Do you have a film back you could try? And does that work? If t does, we need to see if the problem is the interface . I‘m assuming the back works fine in another camera. Does the camera fire with the HX 701 plate in without the back? For the next test, use some thin tape to cover the gold...
