Schneider-Kreuznach APO-DIGITAR 43mm XL need for center filter?

I have a spare Rodenstock 58mm center filter (0.45ND) which is not the same as Schneider's but may be the second best thing.

AI: Things will be changing very fast

Fermi paradox can be easily explained when you realize that each and every civilization at some point develops AI. AI does not require biological life forms to function. In fact, any advanced life form can only harm AI as sooner or later it would compete for limited energy and planet's...

Real world 100mp comparison (Hasselblad/Fuji/Phase One)

I am thinking about getting 100mp sensor for larger prints but I wonder how much (if any) difference there is for modest print sizes, let's say A2. I can barely see differences between 33mp and 48mp back on A3 and only very slight gain for the larger sensor on A2. Is there a real life difference...

    Tethering Phase One H25 back

That's why I have two Sinars 54h, 75h and 86h. They print beautifully and I do not pixel peep.

Help With Phase one XF just acquired

I shoot CCD sensors at their base ISO. Always. CCD sensors are meant to be used with a lot of light, the lower the ISO, the better they look. If you need higher ISO you'd be much better with CMOS sensors.

    Tethering Phase One H25 back

yep, the mid2012 non-retina was the last one that you could easily replace SSD, memory or battery and is a great thing when you need to work with older backs.

Schneider-Kreuznach APO-DIGITAR 43mm XL need for center filter?

I think Rodenstock's E58/77 Center filter may work iwith 43xl n theory but never tried that - on paper the diameter would match (58mm) and it is a 1.5 stop CF (0.45ND) so seems to be ok for cos-3 lenses Maybe someone can comment if anyone tried that combination.

    SK digitar 72mm L vs 80mm L vs 90mm N

hm apo componon 90/4.5 and digitar 90/4.5 seems to be the same exact lens:

    SK digitar 72mm L vs 80mm L vs 90mm N

100mm digitar IC is more than 125mm. Early Schneider brochures were giving that radius for 6x9 film or large sensors. Later brochures show 100mm but that's very conservative. I can see it's image circle well exceeding 120mm for acceptable sharpness but probably depends on how critical you are to...

Help Deciding purchasing 4x5 Film Camera as it compares to Medium Format Digital

Yep, shooting 4x5 film became ridiculously expensive. I switched to digital a good number of years ago but I still use my trusty Sinar cameras for that. I much prefer to have full freedom of movements at the expense of speed or portability. Obviously, everyone's requirements differ, but for me...

    Macro studio lens

Thanks Kuky! I somehow assumed that the manufacturer's specs of 82mm IC related to 1:1 ratio and disregarded that lens altogether. With 145mm+ IC that's a whole different story.

    Macro studio lens

I stayed with 120 macros (have both SK and Rodenstock flavour) for the exat same reason - a very limited image circle of the 105 float - only around 80mm. Within its circle it is supposedly to be an awesome lens, better than 120s, but its limited image circle eliminates it from my typical use...

naive question: is it possible to use mirrorless lens with digital back?

You may not have dark corners but are the corners still sharp? Most small format lenses give optimum performance within a very limited circle of let's say 30-50mm and may have problems at corners, not to mention ability for shifts and tilts. I'd rather mount a medium or large format lens.

lens for digital stitching - digitars or apo symmars / SS HM

I will resurect my old thread - I just though that someone facing similar dilemma may be interested - I recently bought an unused (!), old stock Super Symmar HM 120mm - I just could not resist having this 40 years old beauty. Some time ago I also managed to get a hold on SK150mm Digitar in...

Any leaf aptus II 10 users here?

I believe that all Dalsa sensors apart of their old 33MP models have microlenses. Leaf Aptus II-10 would have microlenses but how it behaves on a tech cam, I have no idea. I was quickly trying to find relevant datasheet on the Dalsa website but to no avail.

Help Deciding purchasing 4x5 Film Camera as it compares to Medium Format Digital

You can use digital backs on a 4x5 camera, too (that's what I do) to have the best of both worlds.
