XCD 21/4 for night sky photography

My combination, 907X, CFV II 50C, XCD 4/21 is not precisely focused at infinity after power on. It is close, but it's a bit off, beyond infinity.. This is also the case with all my other XCDs.

XCD 21/4 for night sky photography

The XCD4/21 is really capable for night sky photography, albeit a bit slow. Coma is well controlled, light fall off somewhat pronounced. The photo is a single shot, only mildly processed (ev, contrast, white balance) it shows Andromeda and the Plejades. ISO 1600, f/4, 16s, no tracker. The crop...

    Medium format objects

I not only build cameras, I also have built my own tube amps. This is a single ended ultra linear 2 x 10W amp, a Planar P3 turn table and a phono tube preamp. The CD player is a Kenwood from 1985 and still doing fine. Photo with diy pano camera, 2 images stiched. CFV II 50C, SK Apo-Digitar 5.6/47XL

    Fun with MF images 2024

After bark beetles and the draught have killed the forest, foxgloves (digitalis purpurea) are taking over the area. Image taken with my diy panoramic camera and CFV II 50C. SK Apo Digitar 5.6/47XL. Three images stitched with PTGui. Digitalis Purpurea Pano by Klaus Hornig, auf Flickr

    Fun with MF images 2024

Located in the middle of the river Rhine - in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley - lies Pfalzgrafenstein, an old toll station shaped like a ship. It is, like the valley, an UNECO World Heritage. Hasselblad 907X, CFV II 50C with Carl Zeiss T* Vario-Sonnar 4.5-5.6/100-300 @250mm Pfalzgrafenstein by...

    Fun with the Hasselblad 907x

Mine is the Hoodman HoodLoupe Professional LCD Screen Loupe for 3" Displays It is an older version, no longer in production and replaced by the H32MB.

    Fun with the Hasselblad 907x

I don't find the OVF very practical. In bright sunshine I use often a Hoodman Loupe. This makes the LCD a huge EVF.

    Hasselblad 24mm (or 25mm) f2.5V and 135mm f2.5V

That is exactly how I feel. I'm more than happy with my XCD21 and XCD30. I got one of the first 55V and sold my 45P. Big mistake, It felt quite loose at the mount and after a while the edges got worse and worse. I have no idea what was going on. I parted with the 55V and will go back to a 45P...

    Fun with MF images 2024

907X/CFV II 50C is not exactly my preferred camera for macro photography, but it works and it is fun. Lens: Voigtländer Macro Apo-Lanthar 125mm, F2.5 SL

    Fun with the Hasselblad 907x

What I like about the C Sonnar is the creamy bokeh, the background separation, the colors, the size and that it works on a 44x33 sensor. However, it is not an allrounder for everything. The design is from 1932 with a modern coating. It is never sharp in the corners but from f/1.5 to f/2 very...

Ageing photographers and the weight. Simplicate and add lightness.

These are my solutions for a day out in a city. The Q-bag from Oberwerth is designed to fit a Leica Q. It also fits perfectly a 907X with 45P (or 28/38/55V). Photo shows a CZ C Sonnar 1.5/50. It's also my personal item in a plane.

    FOUND: Schneider Center Filter II

Thanks Diggles, If nothing else works, this could be a possibility. Adding tax, customs and shipment makes it quite expensive. Let's see if someone comes up with an offer first.

What F-Stop range do you use

I met a wildlife photographer in Antarctica who took head shots of King Penguins with f/29 to get eyes and beak in focus. Those pictures looked much better than those with f/11 where the beak was unsharp. C1 has a diffraction correction in the lens tool menu but I don't know how good that works.

    Medium Format Pets

There are thousands of doggy pictures made with my 35mm cameras but only very few with a Hasselblad. Here is Nelly the Old English Sheepdog taken with my old X1D and a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 3.5/35-70

    What we all strive for:

The lines. Parallel lines. Body and branch. Beak and branch ponting in opposite direction. Balanced elements. Harmony. For me, that makes it a good composition.

Positive Feedback for Petru Daniel Cucos @winetu

I have recently acquired a SK Apo-Digitar 5.6/47XL from Petru Daniel Cucos @winetu. We had a very good communication, shipment was fast and I was pleasantly surprised to see, that the lens was in a superb condition. I would not hesitate to buy from him again. Highly recommended. Thank you very...

Any Hasselblad users just use Phocus and nothing else?

I use Phocus for all my Hasselblad files. Most of the time that is all I need. For my Leica and Sony data I use LrC now. When I need stitching, super resolution oder extended masking I import .FFF files to LrC and continue. Not all adjustments are available in Phocus with non HB raw data. So...
