    Pixii Max

Some monochrome samples from the Pixii Max. I feel the monochrome output from this camera compares well with Leica's Monochrom cameras. Voigtlander Nokton 35/1.4 II & Yellow filter.

    Pixii Max

Photons to Photos have published the performance of the Pixii Max. At the moment the Pixii can only output 12-Bit files, however I do think they will bring out a firmware update in the future that supports 14-Bit output. https://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm#Pixii%20A3410...

    Pixii Max

Thanks, This is my first Pixii and I have had very limited time with it, so probably wouldn't be fair to draw any final conclusions. In terms of image quality I'd say it is certainly a very capable camera, and for a 24MP sensor maybe better than the M240 / M10 but It's a niche camera and will...

    Pixii Max

Two new toys arrived. The Pixii Max and the Light Lens Lab 28mm f/2.8 'Nine Element' All files processed in Capture 1 Pro. The lens needs an LCC profile to correct for color shifts.

    Way Up There - Leica M4-2 + SMC Pentax-L 43mm f/1.9 Special

I don't think Pentax made any other LTM lenses, however Ricoh made LTM versions of their GR 21mm and GR 28mm lenses. I've never tried them but I have a soft spot for 21mm lenses so would love to give that a try someday.

    Way Up There - Leica M4-2 + SMC Pentax-L 43mm f/1.9 Special

A beauty of a lens! When I bought my first M camera (an M3) this was the lens I bought with it. I since sold it, but use the SLR version on my Pentax LX and it is such a treat!

Thoughts on Leica SL2 with M-lenses (landscapes)

I do use it for Scanning medium format film. It does extract a touch more detail. Another benefit is it almost completely eliminates moiré patterns. I use the Sigma Art 105/2.8 for that job, it's a sensational lens.

    The Pentax LX 43

I finally got around to developing the roll of Ultramax 400 I had shot with the LX and the 43mm Limited.

    Hand-held Pancakes

    Does the 907X count?

    Anyone backing Intrepid Electronic Shutter?

Yeah, I am also backing it. It has so much potential if it is successful! I can imagine a system like this being integrated onto an Actus lens board. I know Intrepid intended this for large format film users but it certainly could be developed for folks using tech cams as well.

Thoughts on Leica SL2 with M-lenses (landscapes)

Yeah it is stunning on film! Most of the frame on digi is excellent too. But if you need the corners to be sharp it might not be the best option. The APO Lanthar 35/2 is probably the best value. It's not cheap but it's IQ is right up there with the Leica APO 35.

Thoughts on Leica SL2 with M-lenses (landscapes)

I have used it on the original SL and an M240. In the centre it is almost as sharp as the APO 35's from Leica and Voigtlander but the corners do fall off a little. The 35/2.8 Biogon is a challenging lens for most mirrorless cameras, even the SL line that was designed to play well with M glass...

    The Pentax LX 43

After all the Q3 43 videos popping up on my feed today I was inspired to pull this beauty out of the cupboard! Anyone else shooting with Pentax Limited (or Special LTM version?) 43/1.9? I do have to say, the 43mm field of view does have a very natural feel to it. Maybe Pentax were onto...

    XC40 official

I'm using a Hoodman loupe with my 907X and it works nicely. Albeit I mostly usie it that way on a tripod if it's bright outside. In dim light it is not really needed.

Thoughts on Leica SL2 with M-lenses (landscapes)

Yes. The SL series sensors have been tuned to play well with rangefinder lenses. Sean Reid from reidreviews.com covers these issues in detail. His site is paid subscription but it is not expensive and has been a very helpful resource in this regard. The wide angle lenses will not be quite as...

Thoughts on Leica SL2 with M-lenses (landscapes)

Yeah, the Novoflex adapter will work well. You'll need to manually input the focal length when you fit a lens. I have the menu for that set to a custom function button so it is really quick. A nod to the SL2's superb ergos. The Zeiss 50/1.5 will be so good on the SL2/3! It takes the focus shift...

Thoughts on Leica SL2 with M-lenses (landscapes)

The SL2 and M lens combination has been really good for me! It's such a versatile camera, you will have no trouble adapting your Canon lenses to it. I use my 35/1.4 FLE, 21 SEM and 50 Cron (V5) on it frequently. If you have the Leica branded adapter it will automatically detect your 6-Bit coded...

It is Finally Here, 907x 100c

Totally! I see them come up locally from time to time, but never got around to trying one yet. I did try the Tri-Elmar 28-35-50 for a while but never really got on with it. The Hexanon Dual seems a more practical combo of focal lengths. Combine that with one fast prime for low light and...

It is Finally Here, 907x 100c

I've always been curious about the Hexanon Dual 21-35mm. Seems to be an amazing option for travel.
