These doves are extremely skittish.
They immediately take off when seeing somebody moving around or pointing something at them.

for extreme closeups. Important that the A9 is completely silent when using the electronic shutter. Basically I never use its mechanical shutter.

IIRC the FE 400/2.8 GM and FE 100-400/4.5-5.6 GM both have a minimum focus distance of 98 cm.
That’s significantly shorter than for the FE 600/4 GM or the FE 200-600/5.6-6.3 G lenses.

I put my new FE 35 mm F/1.4 GM lens on my veritable NEX-5N camera and this is what I got, heavily processed and cropped.

Too bad C1P21 doesn't offer the appropriate lens corrections when mounted on the NEX-5N.
However no such problem when the lens is mounted on my A9.
Then I get to choose Manufacturer Profile.
Probably not needed anyway.

Sony NEX-5N + FE 35mm F1.4 GM @ 35 mm (52 mm in 35mm)

I hadn’t used my NEX-5N for some time and it first was acting up a bit.
But now it seems fine again, working just great Including with the new 35 GM lens.
I will use it more regularly now and hope it stays in good working order.
According to “If you don’t use it, you lose it”.
All my 6 Sony cameras seem working fine for general purpose photography.
The A9 is the only one I have though fit for birding and fast action shots.
Hopefully Sony fixes soon the EVF/eye sensor issue of their A1.
I would love to add an A1 or A1 Mark II, but not in its current buggy state.
