The A7r makes a great infrared camera, mine is converted to 830nm.
I recently bought an A7r2 to use for architecture, and so far, I prefer the 2 as a "straight" digital camera.
Image quality is a small notch higher and I prefer the ergonomics.

Thank you Ari. That seems a great use for the A7r.
I agree the A7r2 is a nicer camera, especially well suited for architecture or landscape shots.
Would you mind posting images of that nature here? TIA.

K-H, I will post A7r2 images as soon as I make some. :)
I just got the camera last week, and the weather has been lousy.
FWIW, my lenses are mostly the newer Tamron Di III zooms, from 17 up to 85mm, and a Canon TS-E 24mm, all of which work nicely for IR as well.
