CANON IPF8300 AND MAVERICKS

I got the new mac pro with mavericks (10.9.1). I cannot install the
Canon ipf8300 drivers. Canon says it is problem with the mac. Apple
reloaded the operating system, but the problem persists. Here is the
problem. Canon states I needed to install the OS 8 drivers and then
install a driver update for the mavericks (10.9). The OS 8 install leaves
files in the proper place. But, when I try to run the update driver program
it states that it is the "wrong operating system".

I am being bounced between Canon (who has become curt in there response)
and Apple (who are polite, did remotely re-install Mavericks, but otherwise
say it is a Canon problem).

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MAVERICKS AND CANON DRIVERS?

Incidentally, I initially was able to print a 12x18 image, but when I then
tried to print a 20x30 inch I started getting the following error and now
cannot print anything:

garodclfilter error 3000

I was printing from within Photoshop using file->print and then print settings
tab to set paper, etc. When I hit "print" I find the error.

Thanks. To contact me directly, please email: [email protected]

I appreciate your help!!

I ran an osx update a few months before mavericks came out and it disabled printing to my Canon IPF6300. I could not roll back so had to print off a macbook with older osx on it. When i updated to mavericks i downloaded the ipf mavericks driver updater from the canon website and it worked a charm. I am now worried about installing any updated to OSX. Canons support for MAC users is dreadful.
I presume you have done the normal driver reinstallation and refreshed the printers in OSX?
