Hello everyone!

I'm Damiano, an interior and architectural photographer based in Tuscany, Italy. I specialize in high-end residential photography, focusing primarily on luxury estates and architectural documentation.

I shoot primarily with view cameras and Schneider lenses paired with a Hasselblad CFV 100c digital back. I'm here to connect with other professionals, share experiences, and continue learning from this community's expertise.

Looking forward to the discussions!

Hi Damiano

Welcome! Which lenses, view cameras do you use, do you have a portfolio!

Greetings from Zurich
Ciao Paul, greetings to Zurich!

Thank you for the warm welcome.

Regarding my kit, here is my current setup:

Lenses:

  • Schneider 24mm Digitar XL: I keep the center filter permanently attached. It’s a beautiful lens, but in my opinion, the image circle is quite limited for extensive movements.
  • Schneider Super Angulon 47mm XL: A fantastic lens with basically infinite coverage.
  • Schneider Super Angulon 72mm XL: Same story as the 47mm—huge image circle, a joy to use.
  • Schneider Symmar-S 210mm: I have it in my bag, but honestly, I use it very rarely.
In the past, I also owned a 58mm XL and a Schneider Super Angulon 90mm f/5.6 (non-XL). That 90mm was a magnificent lens—I think I will regret selling it for the rest of my life!

Cameras:
As for the view cameras, I used to have a Linhof Technikardan 4x5, but I sold it to switch to an Arca Swiss Discovery.
For digital work specifically, I’m currently using a Swebo TC18. In my opinion, it performs surprisingly well for the job.

I’m attaching a few sample shots below:

Best,
Damiano

What a great introduction to your outlook and lenses!

Which digital back did you use with the 24XL?

Rod
Thanks Rod! The photo was taken with the Hasselblad CFV 100C. Before this back I used it with the 50C II but it’s unusable. PS: the photo was taken without the central filter.

Well, it's a delightful image.

I have the 24XL in Cambo WRS mount, and in a brief test was surprised at how sharp it is.

Your images are full of visual interest.

True, sharpness and practically nonexistent distortion are its strong points. It's a very challenging lens to use — it requires a lot of patience, but if you commit to it, it produces images that are hard to replicate with other lenses.
