Edward Burtynsky’s brand-new series, “Natural Order,” is currently on display at the Metivier Gallery in Toronto. Photographed and curated close to home in the forests of Ontario, it brings Burtynsky back to his beginnings as a fine art landscape photographer. The exhibition runs from September 3 to September 26. Find details on the gallery and its COVID-19 procedures at metiviergallery.com.
As an interesting sidenote, Burtynsky started shooting with the Phase One system. He said, “The new camera I was working with has one of the highest resolutions possible and the detail I was getting was just amazing. The photos aren’t meant to be seen online – they’re a sad surrogate for the large prints, where everything is there in just crazy, crazy detail.”
We are currently working on an exclusive interview with Edward Burtynsky, which will find its way to the Medium Format Magazine in November 2020. Stay tuned.
