O.k. I was under the impression it was designed for such as light painting and so forth not long exposures as such. Enjoy the journey. (y)
Light painting is certainly one of the possibilities, but you can also use it for car or star trails, and for landscape ...
The big advantage for me is that you see the image build up on screen (unlike bulb mode where you see the result only after completion of the exposure)

Stay safe,

I went out very early this morning, around 5 o'clock, hoping to get some good shots of the comet Nishimura ... but, again, it was a misty morning and some clouds in the direction I wanted to observe, destroyed my hopes ...
Yet while I was up and out anyway, I decide to wait for sunrise and shoot some landscapes ...

stay safe,
Rafael

Yesterday, while going shopping for new roses for the front yard, we drove past this abandoned church in ruins ... I decided to go back for a photo session in the afternoon ...
Very nice place, IMHO ... There were two ancient frescos on the wall, I hope some conservation steps may be undertaken soon, before it is too late or is it already ????

Stay safe,
Rafael

Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Colorado

September 2022
Printed on Museo Silver Rag for an upcoming print exchange

“The canyon's name owes itself to the fact that parts of the gorge only receive 33 minutes of sunlight a day, according to Images of America: The Black Canyon of the Gunnison. In the book, author Duane Vandenbusche states, "Several canyons of the American West are longer, some are deeper, but none combines the depth, sheerness, narrowness, darkness, and dread of the Black Canyon."
