The coasts of Normandy & Brittany are a goldmine of photographic opportunities. The mix of natural landscapes and the work of man, together with the ever-moving Atlantic skies, makes for a truly unbeatable combination. Can't wait to be back this November for more!

Here four images in colour from these spectacular coasts, all shot in 2021 with my Phase One XT, IQ4 and various Rodenstock lenses:

Sunset at Etretat, 3 min 30 sec, Rodenstock HR Digaron 4/50mm

Etretat at dusk, 8 sec, Rodenstock HR Digaron 4/32mm

Man Ruz sunrise, 1 min 40 sec, Rodenstock HR 5.6/90mm

Dawn on the Cote d'Armor, 1 min 40 sec, Rodenstock HR Digaron-S 5.6/23mm

Thank you for viewing, best regards

I had intended to shoot the Washington Monument with my Fujifilm GF 23mm, but it failed. I got a message that says "Turn off the Camera and Turn on Again", from what little research I have been able to do, it seems this may be an indication of focus motor failure. Anyway, I pulled back and shot it with my 35-70mm. Fuji GFX100S 35-70mm
Please keep us updated on the cause, Greg, maybe on the Fujifilm forum as well.

How do you like the Laowa shift compared to Fuji's GFX lenses? It is on my list for the 100s this month's. How far can you shift without vignetting? BTW they look very good.
May be we can have a rendez vous in Amsterdam, if you want, to show me the ins and outs of the GFX 100s?

Hi there Michiel,

well - let's put it this way: I'm not disappointed at all.
The lens is not bitingly sharp and definitely not in the same league as my GF23 f.i., but it sharpens up nicely in PP.
So far one caveat: there is this knob to fasten or loosen the shifting mechanism and that knob is likely to fall out. So you have to keep a close eye on it.
To my surprise you can shift to its maximum (11mm), but you have to take off the hood otherwise when shifted you'll see the petals.
In vertical mode there's more serieus vignetting/darkening in the upper corners that can be fixed in PP or removed completely with a little cropping.
Frankly - I regard this lens as a sort of stop-gap till the real deal from Fuji shows up. But then at what price ?

As for meeting up - as far as I recall I only once met good old Vivek and his wife at my place.
Even Jono Slack tried many times to meet up with me, when he was visiting Holland for work, offering me plenty of beers, but I always politely turned down the invitations.
So I'm sorry, but rather not.

Kind regards.

Thanks for the info Knorp. I think I stick with my Canon 24 shift lens with adapter then to start with.
No problem about meeting. I know enough people in Amsterdam :) I will get to know the camera myself.
I am just a bit worried because I can not really bond with the S10, Don't really like it.
I hope it will be better with the 100s.

Been out of action due to Covid and a few other life challenges, but here's a shot I took during a recent trip to Vegas. In classic, understated Las Vegas style, here's the New York New York casino with star trails. The only time I have had to manage camera overheating when shooting a star shot!
