.. a great success with a wonderful picture Mr. Hurt!!I hope I may be allowed a little brag! Today, I attended the finals of the David Malin awards (Australia's leading astrophotography competition). This includes the work of some extremely expert people doing deep space images with telescopes and the like. But there are categories that are more suited the sort of work I do too...
I'm delighted to say that I won the category entitled 'Working with Light in the Night' with this image, shot with GFX100S and Pentax 645 28-45mm lens @ 45mm. Taken during Sydney's annual Vivid festival. I shot the light beams and installations moments before they went out at the end of the festival - then carried on shooting for a further 90 mins for the stars.

There is a great deal of processing in much of the astro photo world - nice to see such a wonderfully-composed, “no trickery” image do well.
