I think they're the same species, these "furs" get blown off over time and the one in your photo seems further along in that process.

Really ? Sounds more like 'Wier' to me ...A weir on the Wear (Wear is pronounced Weir),
A7RIV 12-24mm Sony f4 lens at 12mm f9, ISO 1250, 2 second exposure. I did not have a tripod, so I braced the camera on a railing.

P.S. several members here and at other sites forewarned me that the lens was very subject to flair. They were of course right. I retouched out some of the nastier ones.
