Test Target 1 New Broncolor Strip Light by Nokton48, on Flickr

Test Digital Image Nex 7 checking lighting. New Broncolor Strip Light in right back corner, provides nice extra edge light. Hanging from Manfrotto Scissors from the ceiling, very adjustable and makes the most use of the space. One also back corner camera left available but not used for this test. Also the 1000mm F16 is aimed at this (same view), leaving it set up. Octobox 150, and Balloon used again as front and side (fill) light.

Triptich of three stained glass windows of the St Guibertus Church in Schilde (Belgium)

Left and right original versions (restored), but some of the originals were too far gone to be restored and were replaced by new modern ones, of which you see an example in the middle

Hasselblad ELM 135 C Zeiss Planar S 1to1 Macro Auto Bellows Stovepipe by Nokton48, on Flickr

Reconfigured the Hasselblad Automatic Bellows to fit the 500 EL/M model, and the 500 C/M as well. With the 135mm C Zeiss S-Planar, and Bellows Hood. Stovepipe Finder and A24 Back loaded with Shanghai 220. Broncolor Boxlite 40 8 inches away 45 camera right. Mirror on gooseneck 45 left for fill. Balloon light underneath glass table to softly light background. Rubber Eyecup on Stovepipe came from a Kiev60 Meter Prism LOL.

Great everyday rig for 6x6 film and now Hasselblad CFV16 Fat Pixel Digital Files. Lighting test shot with my Sony Nex.

Antwerp has a big (public) sculpture park around the Middelheim museum.

A very nice place for a walk and admire over 200 sculptures from many different artists, in many sizes and from many eras. We went there with the complete (extended) family on Easter Monday.

Here's an example of something special we saw (and experimental)

1: Build a big slide

2: Build a concrete bunker at the end

3: Fill an oil barrel with water, roll it down the slide into the bunker and observe the shape created by the impact

I figured that vintage hifi might not interest everyone, so I'm posting these images as attachments. Sony STC-7000 is a circa 1971-75 AM/FM/preamplifier which I purchased this afternoon for 50 USD, partly as an antidote to too many touch screens and virtualized controls. I was surprised to discover that most of the circuitry is contained in modules which can simply be unplugged for servicing. And by the use of surface-mounted resistors in such an old device. Pardon the dust! I won't attempt to power it up until I perform some basic restoration work, because although it's in amazing condition, 50+ year old electrolytic capacitors are likely to need replacing.

Makina II with new 7.3cm Orthar correct vintage Sweet 7.3 Finder by Nokton48, on Flickr

New to me 7.3cm Plaubel Orthar Makina II vintage. Looks marvelous and sharp at infinity. Looking forward to shooting film with this. As a bonus, the "Mittel" medium yellow Makina Filter I have, fits this directly. So Happy Happy with WA Makinas. Black Olde 7.3 Supplemental Finder looks brand new. Glass appears perfect.

Shot with my 36mp Sony Nex-7

Last week we spent an afternoon in the Hortus Botanicus (Botanic garden) in Leiden. A nice park, special buildings and an abundance of flowers, both outside and in the greenhouses. Here's a short reportage.

1: Entry building/greenhouse. Home to mainly cacti and meat eating plants

2: Home of the resident pollinators

3: Let's go bananas

4: Hanging flower 1 (didn't write down the name)

5: Hanging flower 2 (same problem as with #1)

6: Giant waterlily leaves

7: Flowering waterlily

8: Flower head of a sarracenia (meat eatling plant)

9: The oldest observatory (1878)
