A few more from "The Devil's Fire" in Nevada.

P.S. These photos are all Joe Colson's fault. :salute:

I haven't looked here for a bit and the quality of the photos being posted is superb. Well done and Happy New Year. My meagre offering from a frrrrrreezing cold, foggy day in Oxford. Radcliffe Camera and Christchurch College. Both with my A7S and a Voigtlander 40mm f1.4 VM Nokton-Classic MC.

Thanks for the compliment.
I have been testing out the 24-70 GM and have decided, that in spite of the weight, I like it enough to order one.
That is what I meant by it being your fault as you alerted me to it's fine qualities.
If you are ever out this way I'd be glad to show you around. ;)
Until that time happy and healthy NY.

Firenze A7RII FE55 1.8 The Old and the New
Nice chiquita, I didn't know they had examples of these famous statues by Jan Fabre in Firenze ("Utopia" and "The man who measures the clouds"). They fit quite well with the old facades behind them. Did you know he modeled the man in these statues after his deceased brother?

Still working on my collection of Contax N lenses to use with the A7x cameras and Fringer CN-SE AF adapter. Took the latest addition, Contax N Carl Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 Planar out for a New Years day walk in the park. Clear, bright winter day made for some contrasty lighting that these Zeiss lenses really don't need, but I think that they handled OK. These old Contax N lenses together with the Fringer AF adapter are ideal as adapted lenses on the Sony Ax series camera with PDAF and IBIS.

The "Brick Wall" test, sort of, in the form of some donor bricks at the waterfront trailhead.

Bird watchers participating in the annual New Years Day bird tally.

The park boathouse with lots of detail and also the following two shots.

Prickly situation.

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

I just finished a little modification to my vintage Star-D tripod, to add a RRS quick-release clamp so I can more easily swap cameras that I display in my little vintage camera diorama.

Here is the result, my 45-year-old tripod with my 45-year-old Nikon, snapped by the lovely 24-70mm GM on the A7Rii.
