Buy a spoon and save a life! If you get into difficulties at sea around the UK an unsinkable lifeboat of cutting edge design and manned by experts will soon be arriving to render help. That this service is paid for by public donation and that the crew will largely be unpaid but dedicated and highly trained volunteers is quite remarkable as is the near two hundred year history of this, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.......But it all has to be paid for so, please, buy a spoon.........

The local 'Potato Ground' ready for the growing season. It was established in 1804 by the Lord of the manors daughter for veterans returning from fighting the French to grow potatoes and food. She was known for being "sharp in her business" so two centuries later the buiilders are still trying to unlock her legal thorns......
