Also, there is Batavia, NY. A small city in western New York state that was founded by the Holland Land company and named by Paul Busti of the Holland company.

There was a Batavia in Indonesia as well, nowadays named Jakarta.

Well, the owner claims that it was originally named "Vaterland", which unfortunately was also the name of a cruise ship in Nazi Germany, so I'd say that's a good reason.
Nevertheless, I didn't find any connection between the ship, it supposedly is, and Indonesia.
As he was a sailor before settling down, maybe he just happened to be there at some point and then came up with the name (at least there is no apparent connection to the Netherlands in his vita).
