Installing sensor map onto a Phase One P25

I know this is a shot in the dark, but I'll ask just in case, hoping that maybe someone can give me guidance. My Phase One P25 has a few hot pixels and some lines. I found IIQRemap that can remap the sensor. I ran the program a few times to eliminate the lines and hot spots and I exported the file. The instructions said to install it onto the back using the firmware upload software that I got from Phase One. I was using a firewire cable directly into the Phase One back but the firmware updater version 3.4 wouldn't recognize the back. I found another version of the software, version 3.0.4, which was the firmware upload software from the time the P25 was still kinda sorta new, but unfortunately that didn't recognize the back either. The back itself already has firmware 3.3.6 which was the last build for this back. I'm pretty sure that if I can get the firmware updater to see my back I'll be able to upload the sensor remap file.

I understand the back is really old and I might be SOL at installing the remap for the sensor, but would you have any ideas on what I can try? Thanks!

I have the same problem, when i connect the p45+ with computer by firewire, and it can use captureone ,also power supply for p45+ db,but firmware updater cannot recognize the back. Thanks for your feedback questions, when there is some solution it will help us

It's almost a year after you wrote your comment and over 4 years after I wrote the original post but unfortunately I never received anything. I guess we can assume that nobody knows.

Which computer and OS did you use in your attempt? If it is macOS, Apple has gradually removed the firewire driver support that once was.

From what I gather mac OS versions around High Sierra / Catalina were the last versions that retain full support of old firewire hardware and software. But I do not know what the constraints for said Phase One firmware updater are.

It's been a while since I mucked around with firewire and an old P1 back, but IIRC I usually had more luck with a PC + firewire card than I did with a Mac. With a Mac I often ran into the issue of the back not being recognised, especially if I had to use a FW adapter of any sort.

My advice would be to buy an old PC, stick Windows XP on it, get a basic firewire card (total cost <$100), install whatever firmware updater was available from c.20 years ago (IIRC, CI used to keep an archive of such things, and usually they're very helpful) and keep that just for using with your P1 back.

You could of course get an old mac with a FW port from 20 years ago as well (running something like OS X 10.3), but might be harder to track down.

Hope you can get it figured out - a great back, and great to keep this tech alive rather than just consigning it to landfill.

My experience also. Still have my Macbook Pro mid 2015 with Catalina, which is the last version that both Capture One and Apple provided support for FW400. No problem with the Contax but occasionally doesn't work with view camera lenses.
