FWIW - miraculously, unlike my elbow, both camera and lens survived the crash. They didn't even hit the ground; no dent, no scratch ... 😇

speedy recovery-wishes herefrom too!!
And huge congrats with your new Hasselblad X2D II 👍👍👍
Looking forward to more files from that

Sad news. Trust you recover well. Did you protect your camera from the fall and that's why you broke your elbow?

You bet I did, Lou !
Broke my right elbow (olecranon fracture), badly bruised my forearm and hand in the 'act', but the camera and lens (± 1,5 kg) both survived unscathed !
Anyway, although I'm on the mend I still can't bend my arm far enough to bring a camera to my face so aiming and framing by rear screen.
Taking a shot while supporting the camera with my left hand only and just pressing the shutter button with my right hand.
It's doable though ... 😌

Kind regards.

That's impressive, an airport security metal detector will probably go crazy.
I hope you can hold your heaviest cameras/lenses very soon.

Update: my elbow is getting much better, but still a long way to go.
This is what it took to put it back together, pretty amazing ...

OMG Bart. thats a hell of a lot of nails, screws and special metalpieces !!!
no wonder you can't lift your arm any longer!
And its easy to understand if you have been on your heels for a while!
Hoping all the best!

The lifting is not too bad actually, but it is the bending and stretching that is still limited.
But I can't complain, because I can now put a camera to my eye again.
:)

(y)I guess it will need a lot of exercise before it's sufficient fit..
