Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 Video Editting Tools

I downloaded the Office update and am trying the video edit functions. Currently, I have been uploading to Flickr and trusting the flickr algorithms:

"The new picture and video editing tools in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 can help turn your next presentation into a real crowd-pleaser. You can quickly crop, add effects, or correct colors in your images without any additional photo-editing software. And adding cool special effects like fades, reflections, or 3-D rotation to embedded video clips is a great way to wow a crowd."
"Click through the menu to insert your video, and select the commands in the View Tools tab of the Ribbon to Trim, Bookmark, Fade in, or Loop your video."

sounds like whatever "cool special effects" are inside powerpoint - how you get that back out to something flickr can work with will be interesting

doesn't really sound like a solution for editing a movie

understood

think any kind of tripod would help a lot... even a 10 buck table top model will make a difference

try and move the camera as little as possible.

just trying to be helpful

I will try a tripod. I was sitting at a table and participating in the conference while trying to video it. The guy who recorded it for the conference put his camera on a table pointed at the front and didn't touch it. Unfortunately he hasn't made his files available.

This could be difficult - if your employers want the video, tell them you need a £15,000 editing suite or would they like to get a specialist contractor to do it - including stabilizing the footage with Warp Stabilizer?

A good table edge camera clamp and a semi-pro fluid head wold work wonders, but a tripod would be better if you were prepared to stand for ever.

I could not understand a word that was said, so you might want text subtitles.

What camera/lens/ISO were you using?

My GH2 works well in low light with the non-zoom 20mm f1.7, (even for action shots in normal dance studio lighting of gymnasts and dancers) but the 14-140 might have worked in good light for a conference.
