More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

Well, I have been busy with my Leica replacements. Developing everything now with Rodinal, I am finding renewed inspiration shooting banal subjects or compositions.

I have been enjoying shooting wide-open and I like the softer look.

Soon, I will be shooting stopped down.

And,I will switch to Ektar 100 for some color. It is after all, Spring!!!!

Ok, yes, I miss my M3…

and my beautiful M6 Classic.

I never could afford the black paint MP that I really wanted. These days, medical bills make sure I will never own another Leica M… period.

Ok, so my old Nikons are more than capable of providing me with film fun. The black FE2, chrome FM2n, black Nikkormat FTN and a chrome Nikkormat FTN have been put back on the front line. Neither one has great lenses or the prospect of getting anything but pedestrian general use lenses. And I am still having fun! :)

Using various films and developers, I am pressed for time learning each combination and yet, it is a craft, a total immersion into my work and I love it.

A few from today (it has been rainy the past few weeks):

Many more to come as I find a little time for scanning and processing!

Continuing with more images from the old Nikkormat FTN and developing the film with Rodinal:

This is great fun!

Next up is developing more Legacy Pro 100 (expired). And of course, shooting some color film because I love Spring!

”Spring” ?!? o_O
BTW we had a Blizzard a few days ago, and freezing night temperatures for a long time. I will probably tent in May…

Spring is…. a time of unsettled weather but lately, it has become crazy. We will be looking at 82°F this week. A little early for that but the new normal now.

Some re-scans of some film (Ilford XP2 Super 120) shot with the Pentax 645N and 75mm lens a few years ago. New scans were done with an OM-1 in HR mode (80 mp) and Laowa 50/2.8 macro lens on a copy stand with LED tablet light source. OM Capture 3 was used on an M1 Mac mini for USB tethered remote control and image capture. I was looking for an iOS version of OM Capture to use on my iPad Pro, but does not exist yet. Final processing of the scans was done in LR CC and Negative Pro plugin.
