Mounting pictures on museum cardboard and using a passepartout

Hello
I mount my pictures on museum cardboard using warm adhesive film.
I have a press from Seal Ademco.
Then I use a passepartout from the same museum cardboard.
I want to reuse the passepartout for other images in the same size.

Question:
With what workflow/ material can I fix the passepartout on the museum cardboard so that it holds well, but can be easily dismantled again?

I've been looking for a non-permanent, double-sided, pH-neutral tape for a while for similar use. So far, no luck. I believe that existed way back in time (I'm talking about decades ago). Also, there would be two other challenges: Non-permanent glues can sometimes either lose their grip over time, depending on humidity and temperature, or they can become permanent.

One option that sometimes works is to make loops of single-sided framer's tape. It won't give a perfectly tight fit, but you can detach it by cutting the loop and let the remaining tape stay on the photo and the passepartout.

I must have watched a million YouTube videos about these things, but for some reason none of them seem to talk about the challenges that I need to deal with. It's probably me that try to solve problems that I shouldn't have had
