New Leica film camera

Ok, so here is the deal.

Kodak is doing well and serving my needs very well. In fact there are so many possibilities for using film and developers it seems to me that it would be almost impossible to have enough different digital cameras with as many good quality sensors to choose from.:)

Even the film used in recent movies is available:

And of course, the black and white film used in movies like Casino Royale is readily available.

So, if anyone is sitting on the fence about using film or buying the new M6… just expand your imagination and go for it.

If not now, when? It is a great time to really enjoy film!

:):):)

Good video, thanks for posting it. For me, it doesn't change anything ... I'm happy to see the M6 return to production, but I remain quite happy with my M4-2 and will stick with it. Although ... the M4-2 has needed a shutter service for some years now, perhaps I'll need a backup for while it's in the shop. LOL! 😇

If there was only a way… I could happily spend the rest of my life with an M6 again as my only camera.😇

What was your favorite lens on the M6?
I always preferred a 50mm Summicron. I had a vintage 50/1.5 Summarit for years with my M3 but when I was shooting the M6, the Cron was my favorite.

Then I tried a Voigtlander 28/2.0 and it was really cool but I did not use it much. Never had a chance to try the Voigtlander 50mm lenses.

Why 50mm? I guess I grew up using a 50mm and over the years I just got used to a 50 as my everyday lens! LOL…

It seems for most of us its either 35 or 50 as a preferred lens even though for some its 28 and others 90 or 135.

With an M camera, I found that I like the 28/35/50 lenses the best. I owned a 90 and 135 briefly but didn’t bond with either at the time.

Lately, I have found that I actually like the longer lenses on my old Nikons. I guess my interest in motifs changes somewhat when using a DSLR. :)

When I look at what lenses I'm getting the most 'satisfying' photos with today, using the M10-M or M4-2, I'd have to say it's a toss up between the 50mm and the 75mm. My mental image of what I'm looking to photograph has become more exclusionary than inclusive of late ... I'm more interested in the interactions of a few shapes or details than the context of a large scene.

But I find these predilections shift over time. When my eye is in a wide mood, the 35 seems a normal and I need 21 for wide. It's rarer that I find myself shifting to the 90 or 135 lenses for more than the occasional, specific photo opportunity. I only rarely walk with that long a lens.

Today, I did my walk with the 35mm and found it quite difficult to see anything. I made about 27 exposures, I'll look at them in a couple of days and see if there's anything there ... My eye isn't seeing that way at the moment.

Funny stuff!
