New Hasselblad XCD 3,4/75P

It seems like an odd focal length for the 44x33mm sensor. But it does make sense, either in combination with the 38 and 55, or the 28P and 45P. Now you can have 3 very compact lenses with almost equal spacing.

I understand the importance of portability, but IMHO a long telephoto lens would be more useful/needed.
They keep scattering stuff over a spectrum that is already quite well populated.

But hey, happy to see they are not resting on their laurels. :)

And, after we buy all three, they will release a 35-75P zoom. I love the current 35-75 zoom, but not as a a walk around lens.

I don't really like a zoom as a walk around lens anyway. I like to find compositions that fit the lens. I bring the zoom when I would have brought 3 lenses otherwise, or the weather is terrible.
But yes, other zooms are probably on their agenda too. Maybe a tele before compact zooms?

Great progression however, almost linear till the 90V.

P.S.
It seems that HB won't let us move two steps forwards or backwards to frame the image. Just take the preceding or next lens in the ladder. :)

Edit: added colors for different lens categories

Hasselblad is now producing three different lens series, to meet individual user requirements, in addition to the original XCD lenses. Viewed within the context of each series we have:

XCD P (Portable) f/3.4 or f/4 Series — compact, slower, lower price: 28P, 45P, 75P

XCD V (Versatile) f/2.5 Series — compact, fast, manual focus with depth of field scale: 25V, 38V, 55V, 90V

XCD E (Exclusive) — unique high performance lens designs: First in series, the 20-35E zoom lens

Great to see they come up with new stuff. Looks like a nice pair with the 38. For me personally, if this would be a f/2.5 or f/2 lens, I might swap my 65 out for it, but who knows. Maybe I change my mind :)

I would say that xcd65 is one of the best lens in X line from an optical point of view, I don't think with 75p will be even close to it :)

The Leica S70 is optically superb and the smallest and lightest lens in the S system. Something similar in an XCD would be welcome.

Currently, the only Hasselblad lens I have is the 45p, which I really enjoy as a walk around lens. The additional reach of a compact and reasonably priced 75p would be a welcome addition for me.

So for comparison outside UK thats the same UK price as the 45/3.5 (not P)
Or 27% more than the 28P
Or 14% less than the 65

So maybe we see a US list price around.. $2700 , $2150 or $2400 respectively? Seems US and UK have very different pricing across lens models.

Yes, it's very hard to see any logic in the numbers. Seems like they try to keep the number close to the same, no matter the currency.
A straight conversion would be indeed around 2775 dollar, but my guess is that it'll be closer to 2149.

The UK price includes 20% VAT. The UK price of the 75P without the "sales tax" is £1790. My guess would be a US price of $2199.
