Next Generation Hasselblad confirmed 26 AUGUST 2025, 14:00 CEST

Wow lowered price + MK II - say goodbye to X2D price levels - they're gonna fall below 5k. DJI clearly is there to mass produce vs. say Leica who keep pricing sacred.

Its quite a thing to lower price in this tariffs environment.

Must also be razor thin dealer margins ... with B&H getting preferential allotment ... and their online shop ...

Surprising the price reduction.

Hi,

Less compromised by Peta Pixel, The Art Photography (with a beautiful dancer) :

Some points:
1) the support for the wire release is back !!!
2) A little sad: battery duration is down (the batteries are cheap, but it's a pain).
3) As expected The Art of Photography is the more comprehensive.

The did listen and act.

They test if for more a a month before releasing.
Best regards,

10 stop IBIS is pretty insane - the X2D was already great in that respect and I'm pleasantly surprised they managed to improve it even further. Curious how the HDR functionality will play out. I also believe the LCD screen will flip downward as well as up, which will help in certain situations. I hope the paint surface will be more resistant to wear than my X2D was.

While the X2D is not the ideal choice for street photography, I have used it for this purpose on multiple occasions, and now with AF-C and Lidar I am excited to see it's capabilities, even if that's not the reason I am getting the new camera.

Regarding ISO 50, does anyone know if there will be any practical difference in use/output between using that vs the current base of ISO 64?
Hi,

Not idea, but it can do some pretty neat stuff, a short by Matt Granger:

Best regards,

Thanks Paul, we received a large supply last Friday, all units pre-sold, but more coming this week to us and some are still unspoken for. Supply has been amazingly good, at least for us. I've never experienced this amount of inventory at launch for any product.

If they lower prices they really aim to penetrate the market - this is a strong entry vs. Fuji and Leica SL for that matter

And about the « old » XCD lenses (80 mm f/1.9, 45mm P f/4, etc.)?

Are they compatible with the new AF-C continuous?

They are not listed in the FAQ section of their website…

The first generation XCD lenses are compatible with the new subject detection modes, but not continuous auto focus. They will find and focus on the eye, but won't track if it is moving.

They almost had me at dog/cat face detect mode, but I’ll keep my GAS at bay. For now. In the meantime, perhaps @MGrayson and Soup can let us know how it does on a proper cat (and not a bunny).

Steve-did you get a comparable supply if the new lens as well? How are those selling?

No, I've been told by Hasselblad that the new lens will begin shipping approximately 30 days after thenew body, so late September, early October. But orders and interest have been high.

Hi Steve - do you know anything about the 20-35mm working with AF-C? As a recent "E" lens it would be surprising if it didn't, but who knows.

Thanks

Peter

As of this moment Peter, there is not a firmware available for that lens.

But I would be very surprised if that lens was not eventually fully compatible.
