The past couple of days, I have been very busy in the rose garden, shooting the roses…they are just beginning to open.

Apparently, the Rose Garden is doing quite well this year. The first Peace Rose is opening today with more on the way.

A Queen Elizabeth Hybrid Tea Rose that holds the honor of being the first bloom to fully present in 2025.

it has been a busy week with a now much larger backlog of digital images that need to be processed.

Climbing roses have their own pace. Sleeping until warm weather,then creeping to start, and then, leaping to over 8’ on the trellis! Wow!

This Francis Meilland Hybrid Tea Rose typically has a 3-5 day window for best presentation, photographically. They all grow very quickly and change by the hour according to the plan of nature.

This one started as a tiny young bud of course and only a day earlier it had grown in size overnight noticeably:

The S180 is a vastly under-appreciated lens. Part of that is the need for the Elpro in order to focus closely enough for a tight head shot. But its rendering is gorgeous!
