It is only one single lens element, I placed it behind the aperture. It is a modern fused silica glass lens, not made of a real quartz cristal but chemical identic, SiO2Arri,
Thank you for the interesting quartz lens post. The lens has a character of its own.
You said that there is a single lens... Do you mean a single lens element?
Has the lens been cut from a quartz crystal, moulded, or cut from a cast quartz piece?
What is the diameter of the lens and does it cover FF?
Thanks again, for showing us these images. Paul
I made adapter rings to use the lens elements in an aperture barrel.^^ Interesting experiments with these quartz lenses and very special but also appealing results
Do you have any references how to make and mount them, and do they have a real moving aperture or do you put disks with different opening sizes in front or behind the lens?
