I think many of us are so guilty of GAS and the thrill of the chase. I'm on my 3rd tech cam system and now have more lenses than I can ever shoot with. Fortunately, quality Rodies hold their value.

Now that I've filled my tech cam GAS. I've moved on to studying Espresso Machines and grinders. So many beautiful machines out there. Slayer Espresso Machines in Seattle and the E1 Prima from Victoria Arduino have now caught my eye. Might need to clear out some lenses to get into Espresso.

I have no guilt whatsoever.

Wow Slayer! But don’t forget the grinder. And the roaster. 😊

True. And one must insist on a real Bialetti. No knockoffs allowed.

Very very true. A Bialetti moka (no other brands or knockoffs get close) filled with Illy are as close to a real espresso as you can get at home, without an espresso machine. And, most importantly, if you know how to fill it the coffee is pretty great (I'm Italian, and I have been using a Bialetti moka for about 35 years, before home espresso machines were a thing).

Agree totally on the Bialetti. When I have one around, I don't really miss the espresso machine.

I'm on my second La Marzocco GS/3. I had the first one for 13 years and my repair skills just weren't up to keeping it running anymore. Its new owner did a complete rebuild - astonishing. He even rebuilt the check valves, and they're not that expensive new. I'm perfectly happy with the second one. I've always wanted a commercial lever machine, and I have room for one now, but the espresso is good enough that I'm happy. The totally computerized things have no appeal for me, but others swear by them.

For a grinder, I have a Kafatek Flat. Rock solid. Never think about it. This is after a series of "almost perfect" grinders. A small Mazzer, a big Macap, a Versalab M3 (slipping belt, otherwise perfect), that manual one with the big flywheel - forget the name.

So I really no longer have coffee GAS. I have a Siphon for brewing, an Ikawa Pro 100 for roasting. Sipping a Peruvian El Diamante Flores I roasted 2 weeks ago (with steamed milk - the GS/3's are steaming monsters).

So that's what has made me happy.

Hello all

I'm happy to add my two cents here.

I have an Olympia Express Cremina and the Moca grinder and absolutely adore them.

It's magical how the espresso runs silently into the cup with lots of crema, just by the force of my pressure.
Once a hand-lever machine, always a hand-lever machine.
The simplicity and purity combined with precision and robustness inspires me every day.

I can only recommend that you take a look at the Olympia express machines.
