Leica SL3 - APO Summicron 28
What a beautiful image. I love the lighting and “formality” of it (as an aside, for context, I’m something of a fan of the Thomas Struth, Mitch Epstein et al).

Did you use Leica Perspective Control to aid composition in camera? Separately, I guess this is the type of subject where the SL3’s multishot mode might be nice after the recent firmware for extra extra large prints.

Yes, I have perspective control on via a function button beside the scroll wheel. It helps me avoid shooting from a distance where later in post I'd have to crop out too much or the sky. Its fantastic. I also use the 28 SX and 24 SX on the M EVF1 with perspective control, although the APO SL glass is a step above.

The APO 28 SL is (an the hopefully upcoming APO 24 SL) are for me the ultimate architectural walkaround lenses. The sharpness is really perfect across the frame (ant that's ffrom someone owning almost all SK and Rodie lenses to compare) and with such a high res optic the 60 MPX are effectively like 100 MPX IMHO.

I cannot wait for the S4 and its suite of APO 2.5 lenses. Given the Hassy is not available here I am now leaning towards hoarding the cash for the big S4 bang which for sure will cost a lot, but I am a huge fan of perspective control, high res EVF and latest gen APO Leica optics. I hope end of 2026 / beg. of 27 we will get it. And besides, I hate Phocus and Lightroom ...

Its so effortless though with the compact Leica cameras ... The tech cam still has its place, but more for one-shot fine art high res scenarios ie where you control the situation, are ok with the slower pace and print large.

The SL3 or the M EVF1 or M11 with Visoflex 2 and the 24/28mm lenses from Leica together with the BSI sensor form a formidable setup to capture buildings on the go, or anything architectural, really.

Cannot recommend the 28 APO SL enough. It is a monster of an optic. The 24 will be completely bonkers once it gomes out. 21 is a tad too wide for my liking ...
