What do you think about this lens ? I have the 90v and for me it's close to the perfect kit with the X2DII. I was not sure what lens to choose between the 20-35, the 25v or the 38v. Finally the 38v is the prime versatile lens i have and i really like the large firld of view !
If you have some images to share betwwen the 20-35, the 25v or the 38v i'll love it :)

38mm is certainly a lovely focal length on the 44x33 sensor! It's right in between a 24 and a 28 mm lens in 35FF terms.

I haven't used the 38V lens on the 907x, but I've been shooting a bit with the CFVII 50c back fitted to an SWC/M which has the Biogon 38mm f/4.5 ... it's an extremely handy setup. Because I have the SWC for that focal length, I've been considering the 28P for the 907x ... a slightly wider FoV and a slightly smaller/lighter lens for carryability.

So many good options!

I like the field of view. It can tell a lot of stories. I only have 2 lenses at this time on my X2DII but 90/38 is a two way approach that i like a lot.

28mm equivalent or therabouts (this is a bit wider than 28mm) is my favorite focal length across all systems.

A 28mm, compared to 35mm allows you capture the environment = perfect for storytelling or interesting city scenes. Particularly in interesting cities like Paris, London, etc. that focal length comes into its own. On a MF sensor also the longer focal length for 28mm does not distort people or objects too much, even if not too far away - ie, it is also good for enivornmental portraiture.

Anything below that and you are in UWA territory and then proportions, perspective become more important to get a nice shot. The 24mm is perfect for architecture, but for city shots requires heightened focus on composition and therefore quite a bit of skill. You can see that very well with Alan Schaller's work with that focal length - he is an absolute master of composition.

I think also on phones the 28mm FoV equivalent is a widespread main camera setting - ie because of the flexibility. Also let's not forget that Leica built a whole camera line initially on 28mm - the Q series ...

I hope for the Leica M the next thing they'll do will be a 28mm APO Summicron with perfect IQ across the frame - this would be the ultimate documentary city kit for me (sometimes a smaller camera is preferable in cities).

Great shots and should I ever get an X camera probably the first lens!
