... is k-hawinkler (Karl-Heinz) ?
He seems to be missing here and from FM since early/mid April.
There are still wild fires raging in New Mexico, no ?
Hope he's alright.

Does any one has a clue ?

Thanks.

Thank you, Thorkil. I did send him a note: started a 'conversation'.
Unfortunately I've have no permission (no subscription) to post on FM.

Early in the pandemic he was also a couple of weeks off the radar.
Would be really sad losing him ...

All the best.

Some communities in the area where he lives had to be evacuated because of wildfires. I hope that he was not in that group and that he is OK.

Thanks, Carl. You may recall that he posted many images of burned and scorched areas close by where he lives.
His absence both here and on FM and your information confirming what I already feared forebodes no good.

I think that he was living in the White Rock, NM area very near the Rio Grande overlook. I searched for fire info of that area ,but nothing new yet.

That could be it, Carl.
Also the Bandelier National Monument was one of the many places he visited and that's pretty close to White Rock.

I sent K-H a PM and received the following reply:

Thanks Carl. We are fine. Lots of smoke and bad air,
No evacuations for Los Alamos / White Rock, but quite a few for Las Vegas, NM.

Our fire in the Jemez Mtns only burnt only a bit more than 40,000 acres.
It came to about 2 or 3 miles to Los Alamos National Laboratory.
At the peak over 1000 fire fighters kept it from getting closer.

The other fire in the Sangre de Cristos has already burnt more than 300,000 acres.

With kind regards, Karl-Heinz

The folks over at getdpi were quite concerned about your well being after hearing about the fires in NM. We hope that you are OK and not affected.

Best regards,
