WTB: PhaseOne IQ150 / IQ250 for Hasselblad V

Dear All - I am searching for a PhaseOne CMOS Digital Back for Hasselblad V - i.e. IQ150, IQ250. I photograph professionally and this could bring the flexibility of Hasselblad to a next level.

If such a digital back lies in your drawer or yourself are moving away to other gear type I would be grateful for a direct message.

All the best,
Cristian

It’s definitely nice to know the V mount users are still around! I still use my IQ160 on my 503 in my kit with the IQ4 on the XF in tandem - the 503 is still my favourite to use 😁 Best of luck with the search! You’ll enjoy it! Hard work, but the reward when using good specimen Zeiss really still looks great and eminently Hasselblad.

503 with iq160 is also my go to camera for anything other than architecture, there is something very special with this ccd sensor, files are just magical.

Good luck with your hunt, grab the 60mp ccd sensor if you ever come across one :D

I only know that iq160 share the same sensor as p65+, not sure if the long exposure of iq260 was due to software tweak or a new sensor design.

I've only had iq260 in H mount, so cannot directly compare with V mount iq160.

What is it that lures you towards iq260 instead of iq160?

Thank you for all answers!

Background: My focus is also portraits and fashion. I have a CCD back for Hasselblad V, a Phase One P45 (non +) with very nice results at base ISO 50 but it has its technical limitations (Firewire, very low ISO, unusable screen if untethered). I love Capture One, that is why I was aiming ideally for an upgrade to a PhaseOne IQ version full frame, USB-C, high quality display and high ISO.

@jaewon: Thank you, I thought about IQ260 - it is a valid option, great display, full frame in MF. Since I think ISO sensibility is still l - base ISO 50 and probably just max ISO 200 that is why I search for the CMOS IQ250, which has higher ISO but is not full frame though @jaewon I will contact you regarding the IQ260.

@se7en: What are your experiences with the CCD IQ260 in fashion and portraits? How much % are you using the 503 with IQ260 vs XF IQ4 for your fashion shoots and in which situations you use one or the other? The IQ260 still requires an important light quantity, doesn’t it?

@guphotography What are your experiences with IQ260 for Hasselblad H?

Hi Cristian - I work as a fashion editorial photographer, of which more or less all of my photography has been fashion and portraits for some years - my uses differ significantly to most users on the forum. Indeed the IQ160 I use on my 503CW works at its best at base ISO of 50 much like your experience with the P45 - however since I work 90 per cent in studio and on location with heavily controlled strobe Broncolor Scoro packs this isn’t an issue. I use at present the 503CW approximately now 30-40% of the time next to my XF and IQ4 150 back. The IQ160 sees use purely in studio, where where I’ve worked with available light only the XF with a CMOS back or a D850 has been the preferred. For any wider angle looks I love using the 503 as it’s so easy to use. Using my Leaf Credo 60 on the XF next to the 503 - it was purely out of personal preference of which back and lens combination had the nicer look for the job. Some jobs the very modern look of the Phase Schneiders and the IQ4 is exactly suiting the overall vibe of the campaign - only as of late I’d use the IQ4 at present for most jobs. That said, I’m still stuck to the 503 and IQ160 combination as it “just works” - it has nothing to get in the way unlike the at times clunky and over the top nature of the XF.

Thank you all for your suggestions which I am also considering.
Still searching for a Phase One IQ150 / IQ 250 for Hasselblad V in case you do not use it anymore or not often enough!
