As expected the dynamic range is not state of the art, it's worse than then 2017 sensor in the D850 and Z7 II. Also it's far bellow the Canon R3 in particular at lower ISO that use to be Nikon strength, but that is just the fact that the Sensor in the R3 is just fantastic (Canon design their own sensors and can, just like Sony, use money from other divisions to do research and development).

Notice that this is just a data point, it's clear that the sensor on the Z9 is not as good in terms of Dynamic range as the Z7 II, but the Canon comparison is more complex and likely to vary depending on the measurement approach.
From the A1 we knew dynamic range will suffer, but not the extend.
So I will recommend to people that does not need the modern AF system in the Z9 to wait and see.
