Hey guys just want to share my first experience with 40-80 LS.
For the first time was using the lens this morning.
Outside temperature was close to -18C ( 0F)
Schneider 28LS refused to work completely
Phase 150mm - auto focus refused to work

40-80 LS - was perfect.
Image quality over all is fine.

Sorry, Strok. You don't get off that easy posting this scant description of "Image quality over all is fine."

There isn't much available on the new Phase SK 40-80 LS. I think you owe the GetDPI family a much more thorough user report. :D

Also curious why the 40-80 was ok and you had difficulties with your other lenses....

Hey Ken,
Not sure why another two lenses didn't respond well to low ambient temps. A year ago both lenses worked well in Geenland, but temps never went down below -12c.
Regarding the 40-80..
Will post a link (maybe tomorrow) to raw files, so you can judge yourself.
First impression: very heavy, but it will remove from your bag at list 3 lenses, which comes to same amout of LB. well built. Very convenient, specially in bad weather conditions. The hood can't be mounted reverse, which requires extra space in your bag.

Yeah it's pretty big but keeps the sensor cleaner with less need for lens changing. It's very sharp across the whole range.
