hello all-
My franken-camera lives! 2x3 toyo, with re-engineered sliding cambo back and phase MF back adapter.
I successfully mounted a 19th C petzval 158mm lens on a copal 1 shutter and am getting superb results.
I placed the front and rear elements of the brass petzval on either side of the copal 1 shutter (attached with Sugru! -- great reversible self-setting rubber material). The distance between the elements is now about 1/3 *shorter* than when the elements were attached to the original brass tube.
QUESTION: What have I changed in the optic formulation?
The results are sharp.. I am tempted to try to reestablish the correct distance with black PVC spacer tube.
just curious,
Eric
