I agree about the landscapes. Great work Jono.
Amazing macro detail, Bart. Brilliant work.
Really enjoying you "camera club" shots Steve. We'll be in Boston around the 9th of April, for about 10-11 days. Maybe we could join on a temporary basis?

Thanks for the kind comments - my workflow is pathetically simple, and just got even more pathetically simple with the advent of Aperture 3 (at least, until I find it isn't so good as the old one).

here are a couple more aperture3 conversions:

Those are beauties (as are the subjects of the second image )

I'm very much looking forward to your evaluation of Aperture 3, so please keep us informed. I've been impressed by what I've seen so far, almost ready to make the jump from Lightroom, but not quite there yet.

We are coming to visit our daughter after Easter - OX1 so send Caspar over for a day or so ... perfect companion for our annual pub crawl.

Seriously gorgeous dog and brilliant capture.

Jono, the tone & contrast of the immense sky is Excellent & the auto peeking its body into the shot gives it nice scale & perspective!
The second shot is Adorable & well framed!

    Juno,
You seem to be getting some great tone with your B&W. Aperture 3 seems to be a great time saver for you. I like to save time, it gives me more time in the Pub.

I like all the images but Caspar really steals the show.

    Cheers

    Jono,

Your B&W shots are stunning. The detail and DOF in that first one's terrific. Always enjoy Caspar. In the photo world you're either on the Aperture or Lightroom path. Impressive results from the other program.

    Cheers,

Re: The All New More and More Fun With Digital M Images

My daughter´s been fighting ME (aka Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) for a long time. She played her last football match almost exactly two and a half years ago. On Wednesday evening it was time again - after a lot of patience, training, relapses and rebuilding. A grand evening; -14C and at last out there again. I actually admire that girl and it was great seeing her like this again!

The M8 and 35mm is perhaps not the ideal tool for action and sports. These are crops from ISO 1250 images.

J.B. When we play football in winter, we use orange or yellow winter balls - to see them, that is. Guess you have them for golf as well?

+1 My daughter went through something similar. It takes years for full recovery, glad to hear she is doing very well. And it appears she is good at defending and tackling the ball

The snow was very wet and around 6 to 8 inches deep, finding golf balls would be difficult Now, a golf cart on that snow could be fun. Those greens are going to be a mud pit by the weekend...

Yes. The Galleria has three levels with these huge banners hanging from the ceiling. Was playing around with the composition. Two things I learned from taking some photography classes with Gary Winogrand when he was at UT Austin in the late 70s: first - there are no rules of composition. Second - most compelling images are right on the border between failure and success. I still haven't figured out if that image works or not.

John B and Woody - like the snow shots. John I have a brother in Big D, he is enjoying the record snowfall you are getting

shtarka1 and jono, keep the dog shots coming, and that 1st shot with the noctilux is a keeper

Woody, I really like your compositions on those architecture images
