Steve, whoah...lovely shot! I need to pull out the Noct f/1 for some fun...is yours the f/1 or f/0.95?

I love the processing as well...has a very nostalgic feel.

Re: The All New More and More Fun With Digital M Images

Incredible photos over the past couple of days, including (but not limited to):

Ashwin’s superb wedding pictures (do you ever rest?)

Lloyd’s ever-sturdy reading annex (with a full Sears catalog collection?)

Jaap’s cobwebbed microscope (from Europe, where the history comes from)

dierk’s foggy forest (that Zeiss 21mm is looking mighty fine)

Kurt’s parking lot shots (please, stop, I can’t afford to buy that lens!)

Nick’s and Steve's old cars (suddenly my garage is looking much more photogenic)

Still digging through the old unprocessed files. More M8 shots from Japan.

Finally getting some time to list at least a few of the clickers here who are sharing some memorable images: Nick, Aboudd, Dierk, Don, Stefan, Lloyd those piano shots would make my wife cry, Kurt in the fog, Jaap's microscope - WOW, & Ashwin - some truly outstanding images, keep posting.

Nick - the Lincoln Memorial shot is outstanding and Endre, the Opal photo, to my eye, is captivating at every level - simple, elegant, colorful and wonderfully composed.

Something a bit different - livestock show carnival, m9 50 lux,

Ashwin: Great Egyptian series. The brown tonality of the last three really seem to fit the subjects. In the first series, the fourth is my favorite. Sort of faded low contrast. Need a long lens to shoot kids on the street these days! Nice. Cheers, Matt.

He moved just a moment prior to taking the shot, so focus was a off a bit, but the light... I wish I could have that light on demand Both shots with the 50 Lux ASPH on the M9.

Steve, I have to inform you that I cannot afford a Nocti at the moment. Do stop making me indecisive

John, I think that amount of focus loss gives the image more meaning. Both shots are wonderful.

Ashwin, your choice of subjects, framing and pp always fascinate me, and these last posts are no exception!

I do own quite a number of Leica lenses, and understand the philosophy behind the Noctilux's design. Currently it serves as an aspiration for me. Who knows, maybe one day...

Re: The All New More and More Fun With Digital M Images

having big hardware problems, I try to catch up with all the great shots during the last time

I start with the last one
@Per, the last one with the 35/2 cron is my favorit, shows, how good Leica glass always has bin - in the right hands, of course

@Ashwin, the series from Egypt is super (sorry, I don't know all the more precise English words, that would describe my feelings better), exactly my taste and I like the kids and pantomime as well and many others from previous pages (like the B&W 'COCKTAILS' and the colors from Vault)

@DavidE, the last one with the flower is wonderful, keep digging

@Jaap, the microscope is just great

@Endre, you cars are very creative and inspiring

    ... and so many more

and thanks for all your kind comments to my posts, they are very much appreciated

Holy Frijoles!!! Go away (read: try to do some actual work) for a couple of hours, and looks what happens!!!! Magic, I say, pure magic!

David: Glad you dug up those gems. Very nice indeed.

OC: The "livestock" on the face of that clock are utterly delightful.

Ashwin: I don't know where to begin. Your "Random Selections" are amazing, that shot of Vancouver should be used by their tourism counsel to promote the city, and the shots from Egypt have a timeless quality totally befitting the subject. Masterful work.

John: Really nice portraits, and I don't find the focus issue of the first one a negative at all.

Per: That shot is about as good as it gets.

Seascape: Stunning image. The color just leaps off the screen.

Per, that's a truly amazing image. The lighting and composition are perfect. Some day I want to make photos like this one. Heck, I would settle just for your ability to walk down the street and see the potential in the scene.

David, Ashwin, John, Per ... two thumbs up!

Our Milwaukee skyline would be certain to include a few ice fishermen. It's been in the 40s all week so these fishermen might only have a day or two left before the ice breaks up.

Re: The All New More and More Fun With Digital M Images

Thanks Steve. The lens (and an ND filter) are allowing me to separate subjects from their backgrounds to an extent that is much better than I had anticipated ... especially on overcast days (exactly why I wanted to get the lens). Those isolated subjects end up looking almost 3D up against the smooth background bokeh. I used to love carrying around the DMR and 180/2 to get the same result ... I like carrying around the 'lightweight' M9/Noct combination much better.

@John Black: Lovey portraits, with a nice and gentle tonal rendition

    @seascape: Love the reds

@ DavidE: love the overhead shot in BW....has that in-the-moment feel.

Per: +1. The light washing across the wall, the PP, and the composition are outstanding. Cheers, Matt.

Very nice Kurt. Not my idea of fun, though. What are they catching? Cheers, Matt

The stream of fantastic photos in this thread is just relentless ...
Too little time to comment on each one, but I'd like to say: keep up the good work every one

I migrated from a D3 to an M9 and a DLux-4 (for when I have to travel light), and would like to share with you this picture that I took at an airport in France while waiting for a connection flight. The picture was selected to appear in the coming book being prepared by the Leica Forum.

One thing is sure for me now: I never experienced so much pleasure doing photography than now, with some fine Leica tools. By the way, I also have a MP and continue to love using it with film.

The M9 with the Summilux 50/1.4 Asph is a wonderful tool to interpret what surrounds us.

Thank you all for your kind comments about my humble contribution! I must add that no other camera I´ve ever owned has been more inspiring and rewarding to use than my new M9: very expensive, but worth every penny!

This is a remarkable thread, with so many great images! Without really wanting to put any contributor before the others, I have to mention dierk, who has all but sold me on the MacroElmar with his portraits and flowers (and his b/w work is lovely, too!).
