unclearconcept: Very nice... thanks for your contributions to the thread. Looking forward to more.

Daniel: That is simply amazing. Love that lens on the M8, and it clearly performs beautifully on the M9. At least in your capable hands.

Matt: Great stuff as always. Your wide shot does nothing to mollify my lust for that 24 lux!

Woody: Same goes for your work with that marvelous lens. This latest shot is a masterwork of light and composition. Beautiful in every sense.

BTW, I agree, this is a special thread, easily one of the best I've ever seen... folks here are constantly pushing the envelop, digital M photography-wise, and as a result, it just gets better and better. I appreciate your kind words, but really, I have no official capacity. I'm just a fellow photography lover, humbled by the talent here, and inspired by the art. As I've said before, this is a mutual-inspiration association, and I'm just glad to have found it.

Re: The All New More and More Fun With Digital M Images

Thanks, Lloyd, Dierk, Jeff, Otumay, Endre, and Steve.

Don, outstanding bird shots. You have a fine eye for composition, and you're far more patient than I would be.

Roan, looks like you're really comfortable with the new lens. Excellent images.

Bart, please, bring on even more summarex madness. Your desolate object shots are terrific and inspiring (you show we don't need majestic backgrounds for great photos).

Dierk, talk about inspiring. Hey, we have pots and pans in our house, but I can’t imagine creating the images you’ve been able to come up with. Amazing!

Unclearconcept, excellent photos. I especially like the composition of the first one with the tree blooms.

Thrice, your ocean photos are superb. The colors, composition, and tone are first rate.

Matt, super forest shots. The last one is my favorite with its warm tones, flowing composition, and subtle colors.

Woody, I love your urban shots. Your mastery of conflicting angles is very close to what I hope to achieve. The most recent shot is truly outstanding.

Lloyd, you may not act in an official capacity, but you set the cordial and welcoming tone that has attracted so many fine photographers here. More than anyone else, you’ve helped make this place a community rather than just an interesting place to visit.

My two Vegas assistants. I needed some help to carry the M9 up the stairs.

I have been slacking recently, both on posts and seeing all of the amazing stuff. Let it be said that I continue to be inspired, accross the board. I have been busy at work and shooting often. Here are some from yesterday from the Prarie Home Companion show in Seattle, taken with my new 24 elmarit (A CRACKING LENS!!!! It was fun to confine myself to an unusual focal length. You look for images to fit the lens. Vegas is especially well-suited for wide-angle in that it's built to a larger-than-life scale.

David: These are wonderful. Like Steve, these bottom two are my favorites. Although, I'll add the beautiful lobby to my list.

    Roan: thanks.

Lloyd: I think that's my favorite of the day. I walked by that log and my wife said "hey, look at these "fungi". I went back.

    Cheers, Matt

    Matt,
Lovely work out in the woods. By chance were these taken out in the Cascades off the Mountain Loop Highway off Rte 2 and Granite Falls? Very evocative of that area ,if not, and you can just feel spring crackling in your images...

Wow, I was away for this thread for a few days while I flew back from London and recovered from jetlag, and a ton of great images pop up. I don't want to forget anyone specifically, so I'll just say there are lots of great images here!

I took a quick day trip today up to the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve in Lancaster, CA. The poppies are pretty good this year, better than last year, although not as good as 2008. Still, lots of good photo opportunities. I actually ran into an old guy there with an M9--it's the first M9 I have seen other than a friend's and my own. The guy had to have been 85 or older, and was very nice. We talked M's and lenses for a bit. Anyway, on to the shots, all with the M9.

Ashwin: That's exactly where it is! One and a half hours and you're in the mountains. Thanks.

    WATE @ 21mm:

Jeff: California poppies! Great trip through the lenses. I really like the feeling of this one. It seems to roll on forever. Dorthy, et al, are asleep in there somewhere!

John: Beautiful portrait. The color in the background bokeh really sets off her wonderful features and coloring. Seems to flow into that touch of auburn hair.

    Cheers, Matt.

Some low-light shots with the 35 Summilux. This lens will stay in my M8 for a very very long time - it is technically perfect in every way:
