Very impressive. A friend lent me his 35 Biogon when I first got my M8, and I was always impressed with it's performance. Great lens indeed, especially in competent hands... such as yours.

isn't this cool. i love it too, i was having a fun time showing this picture off to my other friends

this was a replica food which is commonly found on display in most japanese restaurants. my friend and i had a delicious snack, octupus balls, at maru global, philadelphia.

while waiting for our octopus balls, this replica dish on display in the window caught my attention. for several minutes i had a big and mischievous grin on my face which my friend couldn't not notice. anyway, knowing that these replicas were expensive, i asked the owner for permission to allow me to take it off the window so that i could take a picture of it with my friend's hand making it looked like he was magically levitating the noodles off the bowl with the chop sticks

there's an interesting article on replica food here at http://www.japanwelcomesyou.com/cssw...y.cfm?sid=1245

Very clever. Made for an intriguing shot. Now, what's the story on the foil and the cell phone?

rayyan: Very nice study of contrasts: old and new, colorful and monochromatic, opaque and transparent, solid and open. I've spent some time in Nuremberg. We built an apartment building there about 10 years ago.

Boy, I've missed a bunch being away, but Dierk, your macros are excellent. Rich colors.

Eleanor, lovely landscapes. That 75AA is a great lens and has a very distinct drawing style.

So, on Saturday I got out for a journey around the southern part of California's Central Valley and high Mojave to see some wildflowers. I got tons of great shots and covered 400 miles in 11 hours of driving and photographing. I'll start with some Purple Owl's Clover; all variations on a theme.

Thanks Matt, Lloyd and Endre. I am torn between the first and second as favorites from this flower patch. There were just huge amounts of these in some of these fields. The massive DOF wide shots are a little tougher with an M than a DSLR, as the close focus is not so close on the M, but its possible as I have shown; it just takes more thought.

Dierk: I keep coming back to look at these. they really are strikingly beautiful. I probably like this one the most. The color is great, the angle of the light created shadows in the petal, and the green stems in the background give it context. It seems "softer" (in a good way) then the other two.

Here's one from today, sky didn't light up so I was just mucking around, the 25mm Biogon wide open. Excuse my disregard for composition.

Matt especially love the image of the dog...beautifully rendered, love the out of focus areas and color. Geeezzz, there are some many great images on this forum...this has really been a learning experience for me as a new Leica user! Eleanor

[QUOTE=m_driscoll;200012]Some more with the very nice Elmarit-M 90mm f/2.8. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Matt

With all the awesome shots posted here, I almost feel ashamed to post a photo of a very trivial subject... At least it's from an M8!

the story behind the foil and the 3g/4g device for internet access was not as eventful as the levitating chop sticks. this one was not easy to get the humor across without much narration. if i had backed out farther then the device in the middle of the home made "satellite dish" made of a disposable aluminum pie dish would've been difficult to recognize. so i came up as close to it as possible to so that both the device and the disposable aluminum pie dish were was still recognizable.

anyway, this was a block from my studio in the bella vista neighborhood of philadelphia. there are no high rises, so there shouldn't be any reason to resort to crude methods of improving reception. yet, here you go, this house sits across from an open parking lot obviously unobstructed.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I was thinking maybe it was something that the cell user would wear to keep aliens from listening in on conversations!
