Post from Monday April 26. Not another pretty spring day. I think it's the strongest of this series, but at least one visitor to my blog who used the star rating didn't like it. M9 + 28mm cron.

Handheld. With a little bit of practice you can be perfect every time, as long as you avoid foreground background situations where you really do need to be on a tripod to rotate on the lens's nodal point.

In print I've demonstrated to tough, skeptical judges that a 3 frame M9 stitch is very hard to tell from a 39 meg MF file.

The trick handheld is to guide the edge of the frame or the edge of the focus spot along a line, and use the center spot, to judge a little less than 50% overlap. Distinctly stop moving for each exposure. Manual exposure for the brightest of the frames. Take in more than you need because the stitched image will have ragged edges and will need to be cropped.

Re: The All New More and More Fun With Digital M Images

Sorry to be away from you all for a while. It's been a busy time at work and with travels. ALong the way, I have missed and tried to catch up with so much beautiful work. Rayyan's images of "Shangri La" along with the accompanying poetic voice...astounding. Thrice's seascapes. Steve's usual brilliance, and Matt's unique visition of the Northwest, my own home, Woody's magnificent New York scenes, Jeff's seas of flowers, Eleanor's amazing urban scapes, so many more. I simply can't comment on all, but it's been a beautiful time here at the forum....spring's here, with summer on its way...

I also have been shooting and loving the X1 extensively, but just went back to a bunch of M9 shots....

Ashwin: Looks like somebody went to Venice when the tides were a bit high.
Thanks for taking us along. Love especially the B&W's with their suitably vintage look.

In the middle of urban Honolulu sits a restaurant opened on July 4, 1944 called the Willows Restaurant.

Not sure if this is a willow tree, but it was in the middle of the dining area and seemed worth taking

    Another look from the entrance

Very nice Cindy...peaceful and love the soft natural color in these. I've never been to Wisconsin ....makes me want to visit the state. My dad's family used to spend part of every year at their vacation home on Green Lake. Eleanor

Thanks Matt, LLoyd, Steve, Rayyan and Eleanor. Wisconsin is beautiful in the summer.
BTW, Eleanor, we live less than an hour from Green Lake. Green Lake is an especially beautiful area.

The specialty is a shrimp or chix curry which are both rib sticking. Its a lunch buffet which is probably not very good for my diet.

I've just spent an hour reviewing this whole thread. I has me wondering - what is it these cameras give to their owners? Each and every one of them is a great photographer!! I'm really honoured to be able to make my own modest contribution.

Agreed with Jaap. It's an honor to be part of this community and share photos with you all.

I only apologize because I can't contribute all of the time.

@ Endre: Remarkable work. I didn't know the elmarit 28 could be used to this degree and control of depth of field. Bravo on an amazing capture.

@ Lloyd: You don't get enough thanks for commenting so often, so kindly, and so regularly. You are one of the foundations of this forum and thread, and I am deeply thankful of this

@ So many others, I can't wait to see more...keep 'em coming. I have more to share, and will do so in a few days!

    Excellent; and a treat.
    Thank you for sharing.
rayyan: Thanks. That's exactly what I try to do. Occasionally with some success (IMHO),

Szekszárd, Hungary. Garden of county hall. Wine fountain, in working order.
Capable of yielding two different wines. Used on special occassions.
Endre: Nice B&W. These kinds of photos are a glimpse into another culture and time. Wouldn't see it in a County Hall in this country! Very cool. Cheers, Matt.

It's 500' tall. Sometimes you just can't avoid photographing it. There are also trees everywhere you look. Cheers, Matt
