    m8/1962 Lux...Out & About

Yesterday I met a French photojornalist just returning from laos
    at a Restaurant (Il Buco)
that I might be redoing some areas with Dcorative Finishes
He grabbed my M8 to play with and
I fell in Love with his Mamiya 6 w/75mm
    Camera Heaven Yesterday!!

    Beautiful shot... again, looks 3D.

(love that Mamiya 6, and the 7 even more... so many cameras, so little...)

Beautiful image, Helen. I love the subtle light on the stemware, and the use (rather bold... most folks would have cropped (and been mistaken to do so) to the lighted area) of negative space. Very, very nice!!

Helen, I shoot always at 160 and when its very dark at 320 and use manual speeds from 1/6th to 1/60th +-; I then work on the file in the computer, this is very good for me (I use aperture and turn the boost all the way down).

Leica 77, thank you for your kind feedback, and for the information on the adapter for the M lens to Nikon. Much appreciated.

Hans, great color in the 1st, and those two portraits are lovely!

Also, Lloyd, those 50 cron shots are very nice as well. The cron looks to work great on the M8!

Another great image from you, Lloyd! It stroke me doubly, as I was experimenting similar shots with the Summicron 75mm yesterday. Never got the colours right, though. As the Turkish saying goes; "I should eat bakeries full of bread to be able to do it!"

    Helen - for you

This is the M8 at 1250. For me, I like the quality of the noise, I know it is not film grain but I don't expect that look from my digital camera. Perhaps this is not the best example but I think the M8 is capable of quality images at 640 and 1250, although the "look" may not be appropriate for all situations. I will add that often times I do not like the look of some of the files from the M8 at higher ISO's but it can work and when it does it can be quite lovely. - your peach-fuzz friend in ny

Lloyd - very nice tones in the CV 75/2.5 Heliar image (preparing for a "Smudging").

Helen - No mirror or glass behind the girl just the Summarex going wild.
