All I can think of, is Maggie has that image hosted at Popflash, and maybe you have a browser block against Popflash? You might try viewing this thread in a different browser.

GREAT PHOTO SHOTS! Having been in the business for 33 years & 21 as an owner (now freshly retired)....I can comment on the construction content.

    1. never trust a tradesman with new tools & belt.
    2. don't fall for the slick photo with the "model" construction worker. expect a drunk/butt crack to show up & whistle at the office staff.

that's about all I learned... really big Grin!

One of the first images made with my M8. Taken in Black Mountain, NC. of my wife headed to the shops with credit card in hand. First image is normal and the second image has the watercolor filter applied in PS. (asa 160 - 28mm - 30th) Ben Tanner

    Hey Ben

I like the watercolor filter effect but man the colors sure changed. Not what I would have expected to happen. I would have thought blur to achieve the effect of paint bleeding into art paper but the colors should stay the same Imho.

Glad to see you are having fun

Re: Fun time / M8 images

    Hi Ben:

    I really like that image!

When I apply the watercolor filter, I tend to use it on it's own layer to adjust later and add stronger effects so it actually looks like a watercolor

Here is my rendition. I think it looks more like a watercolor, though maybe this is not the effect you were after:

    Some photos from Madrid:
In the first picture the white jacketed person had an M8 as well. I wonder if he is a member here. He may be surprised to see his photo.

I hope the photos work.. (We'll see right now. if not, how can I delete my post, I wonder)

Maggie, that's probably the most interesting view of the Eiffel Tower I've seen --- great job taking something so widely photographed and adding a creative twist to it!

    Thanks, Jack!

The really cool thing is it was taken with a lens that was borrowed from another M8 shooter that I'd just met, moments before. We swapped lenses with each other for a few minutes and happily snapped away.

Maggie: I have one in very good shape, no adapter (using it on my 12) and no finder (using that for my 12 too). I'll let go for $200. You'd need the LTM to M adapter and find a 21 finder, but since you have the M8, this saves you from paying for the stock 15 finder and you can use the savings to buy the 21 finder.

I've already got a 21 finder! It came with my LTM 21mm CV Skopar.

I may just take you up on that, but I gotta check my finances first. Pencil me in for it.

    Christmas Cake

Working on flashes here. I unearthed my ancient Metz Z2, and was blown away by its superiority over the SF24D.
As the Z2 is in the process of melting down, I bought a MZ3 on the Bay, and the Leica flash will be a just-in-case flash from now on.

No, Sorry I just have the type I CV adapter (can't be milled). If you are going to code the lens and use filters you have two choices on adapters Type II and send to john milich or get one of John's.

I wasn't sure if you were going to code it and use filters (filter you need the special hood adapter).

I've got a couple of uncoded CV LTM adapters. Yeah, I'd prolly code it, but skip the filters.

Hans, I am also interested in lens and shooting conditions in your shot --- looks like fog or post-processing to lighten certain areas?
