Re: The All New More and More Fun w/M9 Images

Ok guys, 3 more from the WATE. Been shooting this lens all day and I have some images (not these three) that had me looking around the house for stuff to sell to fund one. No luck, but this is one heck of a wide angle.

I am thrilled with the M9 and have become pretty attached to it. I am also excited as next week I am getting a Noctilux F1 and the week after a Noctilux .95 (to test, not to keep).

Should be fun!
Gorgeous stuff, Steve. You're rockin' that WATE for sure.

Bebert, thanks for the photos. Very beautiful photos.

I used to have the CV15mm, and had lots of color changes on the sides and corners. (M8) I had no oppurtunity of coding it, so I had to sell. You seem to be more lucky.

On the contrary, I still have my CV12mm, and even without coding, it gives much less problems. Here is a sample from Rome, Spanish steps: (no corrections applied incl. for vignetting. But of course it's taken with an M8 not FF M9)

I always wonder why the wider lens has less problems for me.

From my daily blog. All shot with an M9 and a 35mm chron asph., which is turning out to be one of the most flexible and usable lenses on this camera for me.

Boy I so remember this area from when I worked in downtown Boston from 1974 to 1982. You wouldn't have been out walking, with expensive camera gear in those days.

Thankfully time has passed and Dorchester is not the scary, crime and drug ridden area it was then.

Guess I have to get back to Boston one of these first days and see the changes for myself. I miss that crazy place, even now

Best

Gulu Wamgulu

In Malawi the Chewa tribe has an ancient belief in spirits. The Gulu Wamgulu are a secret society, the members are initiated on graveyards. On special occasions one will see them in the villages. The villagers have a mixture of fear and celebration when they see them, as they are the incarnation of the spirits and the ancestors. Sometimes they can be found just walking by the road. Being spirits they cannot talk, just make animal sounds and they will often have a "speaker" with them. For a small consideration they can be photographed.Unesco has listed them as cultural world heritage. Summilux 50 asph

Looking forward to some Nocti shots....Camera West tried to get me to spring for one as the M9 is on its way but can't swing both.

FYI they had one with a ripped box $500 off. (.95)

JAAP...excellent!!

DavidE: Colorful, detailed, complex photos. Catches the character of Times Square (at least as I imagine it. I haven't been there in ten years). Bit of ennui in the last photo, also.

Lloyd/DavidE: Thanks. Cheers.

F1 - Love what you're doing with the Nocti. You may have said this elsewhere, but what version are you using? I prefer Lloyd's Tri-X conversion. Are you using an ND filter in daylight?

I've owned Noctis twice, but sold them because I just don't get that many keepers because of focus issues. You've really mastered it.

Wow. Great stuff! I particularly like the reactions in the background in this one.

Thanks, Matt and Lloyd. Wish I could visit there more often. There's so much going on, it's almost a challenge to not take an interesting photo.

Nice ones, cmb. I especially like the second photo for its glimpse of the three women, as well as the different planes of focus.

Very nice, both sets. Love the classic b/w you've got as well. I'm with David on that shot of the women through the window... excellent. I really like the barbershop shot also. Thanks for sharing.

Outtake from my daily blog. The Washington CT. Congregational meeting house. Taken with a 135 f3.4 APO on an M9 (thanks to Mike Hatam for the lens!). The Warren meeting house on the blog is a four image stitch with the 135.
