    Leica M9 Oregon workshop photos

There were three Leica M9 cameras at the workshop in Southern Oregon last week. This thread is a place for us to post some images.

I'll start here with a few from the Alexander Valley (near Santa Rosa) on the drive up.

All images processed with LR 3 Beta.

More shots of participants in action...

Lots of MFDBs and M9s in action. A couple of DSLRs also made the trip. Lots of mFT cameras (mainly GF1s) were there as walk-around / backup cameras.

    Yup, pretty much

Actually, Guy was showing off a monopod, and just happened to be surrounded by a pack of wild photographers with cameras in hand

I agree Reynolds really diluting the quality of the the M9 and the workshops. Just bad press.

I notice that there are a lot of magenta jackets there as well

I think that there should be a rule that anyone who goes to a workshop SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WEAR A PURPLE JACKET

I would love to know who is who in those shots. I do recognize Guy and Jack, clever that I am, but that is about all. I expect that the gentleman with the classic Hasselblad is jlm (John?), but beyond that I am stumped.

A few shots from "The Avenue of the Giants" (along Hwy 101 in Northern California).

All shot with the M9 and processed in LR3 Beta. First one is a self-portrait.

A few shots of the Cape Blanco Lighthouse...

First, from the outside, in the fog. Notice the cyan shift in the corners? That's what happens when you mount the WATE on the M9, but accidentally leave lens-detection set to Manual with the 90 Elmarit selected

A couple of cool shots of the spiral stairway, with the WATE...

Ever wonder what the light and lens look like at the top of a lighthouse?

Here's the huge freznel lens, with the surprisingly small 1000 watt light inside (WATE @ 16mm, incorrectly set to 90 elmarit)...

I'm with the others here - these are lovely Mike. It's interesting in that we have a seaside village on the Suffolk coast called Orford - great oysters are available - it also looks rather the same.

Folk who say this are talking about film cameras, because what you see through a rangefinder is not what comes out on film.A digital range finder has a DSLR screen stuck on the back which makes it as suitable for landscapes as a canon 5d.

Brad - The staircase is a nice composition and good eye to notice that given the spectacular landscape all around.

The 3 silhouettes on the bluff is sublime!

Great stuff Brad. It was fun to finally meet you in person, and interesting how we can both be at the same spot at the same time, and see totally different images. I love your 'stairs' shot, as well as the sillouette of the three photographers. Very nice work!
