Thank you! It was fun to do. I'm just sad about the film shot I did, it did not come out. As for the tree, well, I wasn't there for the first one, so I'm not exactly sure. , But I'm pretty confident it's new since then. The gardens have been redesigned several times over the intervening years, I'm told.

I decided to return to the White Mountains were I shot the cabin and shed a couple weeks ago. These were all shot with the 35mm; meadow was actually shot on a tripod.

Belated, but grateful thanks to Matt for his kind encouragement,
and also to Jono, for his suggestions: I remember your trials with the Nikon, and the discovery of using daylight balance as a default, which seems very sensible - I will experiment with it with my M8 - when I use AWB with it, in ACR I often prefer 'as shot' to 'daylight', but I will try daylight some more. I certainly agree with the desire for a simpler processing regime. I also seem to remember that one of your issues with the Nikon was with greens, and that is where I seem to struggle with colour balance the most. I think some practice with a grey card may be in order - perhaps it is my eyes that need the training.
As this is an image thread, here are some greens from the Nitobe Memorial Japanese Garden at UBC in Vancouver:

Arjuna: Nice image. The greens look quite natural too me. The path, bridge and cedar tree(?) look like they should (maybe a slight bit of green in the highlights on the path). A PNW forest with many variations of "greens" is a challenge. Nothing appears over-saturated. Nicely done. Cheers, Matt.

Thank-you all for the kind words and comments on the latest images. It appears that everyone cares more for the meadow shot rather than the trees. While I like both by personal preference was the trees however I can see how the meadow shot is better.

I still have some catching up to do and want to visit the past several pages here to see more excellent photography.

    Thrice,

You clearly have an affinity for evening images, and it seem that you have mastered the practice with the really excellent long exposures you have shown recently. Most excellent!

Another winner Daniel. Honestly, your great work is a consistent endorsement for Zeiss glass. They should pay you!

    Thankyou Michael, and thankyou Lloyd
I do like my Zeiss' but I wish I could afford more Leicas, I'm lusting after a 75 apo these days. I used to shoot Leica-R lenses exclusively on my 5D, and the 19mm Elmarit-R is a fantastic lens.

Shiro: Great B&W images. I really like this one, but I'm not sure what I'm looking at? The composition and the blurred movement are very dynamic and graphic.

Jerry: Striking photo with the expanse of white space, the reflections, and the moving children.

doublep: Beautiful landscape. Like Lloyd, it's a place i've always wanted to go. I like the pp and the composition. The proportions of the two foreground and two background elements work very well.

Carlos: Those clouds are really beautiful! Nice shots, but why are the lounge chairs empty? Which coast are you on?
