I live in Miami, FL and that was the scene this morning at my kids' swimming lessons. It was a make-up class at 9 AM on a Wednesday. I work from home on those days so it was my turn to take them to class. It was already 89F at 9 AM BTW.

Carlos: That's what I thought. Although it could be a typical all day scene on the Gulf Coast. Thanks.

Re: The Latest & Greatest Fun w/Digital M Images

Recent excessive heat and moisture in İstanbul reduced the output inevitably. But again, sweating under the a/c unit brings back fond memories of İnebolu, visited last June. İnebolu has a wealth of traditional wooden houses, characteristic of the region.

Terrific set, Ashwin. I especially like this one, both for its composition and tonal processing.

This is my favorite of the three. Very nice images. Must be a wonderful place to visit.

Ashwin: As always, wonderful images. My favs are the first shot on the ferry (simply stunning) and the soldiers with the state's flags. Amazing processing on both (actually, all around).

Osman: Great shots. Those wooden houses are very interesting designs. Do you have any idea how old they might be? I love the look of that second shot especially. Just perfect.

Osman, I love the tones of the second shot. Outstanding subtle greens in that image!

Don, I do not know. Just made a quick google tour, but was unable to find an answer. Pine and oak trees are abundant in the region, though.

David, Lloyd and Ashwin: Thank you so much.
Lloyd, those houses should be at least eighty or ninety years old, because they were there during our Independence War, 1919-1922. no new wooden houses are being built and only about 350 remain.

Re: The Latest & Greatest Fun w/Digital M Images

Mimi asked me to take a family portrait for a friend at her office. I agreed, so long as she agreed to help me scout locations. Last evening, after a 10-hour work day (and an hour working out prior to that), she posed in the park we chose.

(Btw, she loves that goofy yellow watch. I have no idea why.)

Thank you Ashwin. And yes, you're right, I am very lucky... more than you know. And not one day in all the years we've been together has passed without my reflecting on that fact. I'm like the goofy watch... I still don't have any idea why she chose me, but I'm forever grateful.

I am hoping CV will announce an M-mount version of the 75mm Heliar. That lens is a gem! Just can stand using adapters for it.

I sort of feel the same, but I have the Milch adapter on mine, and it works beautifully.

Don, I asked an architect friend of mine and he said that they used hornbeam or beech for the outer panels and walls, chestnut for ceilings and floors.

LOL. Thank you gentlemen. Much appreciated. And, I shared your comments with Mimi over breakfast... I love to see her blush.

Truth is, she, of course, thinks there are bad shots of her. She's really not very self conscious at all, rarely even uses makeup, other than mascara, and doesn't think a lot about her looks. She wonders why I love to take her picture so much, and when I show her one I think is especially good, she just shrugs and says something like, "well, I'm glad you love me." So it's fun for me to see her reaction when she discovers other people share my opinion.

Last night, after a swim workout, she came home looking like she had two black eyes, as her mascara had run down. She hadn't looked in a mirror, and had no idea. I just wish I'd had a camera ready! I'm sure she would have thought that was a bad picture.

Great images everyone - always a pleasure to visit.

A recent one from me at the cemetary, M8 and 500mm Nokton f1.5 wide open I think:

It looks like a 1935 Oldsmobile, but I'm not sure.

Thank you Mike. This one is really nice. (I need to find a copy of that "500mm" Nokton for myself!)

Ashwin: That ferry looks pretty empty. Mid-week? All three are great, but this one really captures the slight sterility, cleanliness, polished, light on the water sense of the WA State Ferries. Giant buses in a wonderful setting.

The Ice Caves collapse was a real tragedy (for those who don't know about it that cave collapsed and buried a little girl; rescue took too long). On that happy note, the last photo's great. Beautiful composition and pp.

    Cheers, Matt

Osman: Sorry about the heat. It's 65 F and raining here. Great photos. Your images of the old wooden houses are always interesting. Are they "protected" at all. Good eye with the last photo. Nice lines and composition.

Lloyd: Beautiful portrait and great catch of the rainbow and the flag. Excellent color. Mimi always has a perfect smile (not faux-perfect, just perfect). Cheers, Matt.
